We could be in the money if our defense can come close to the same upgrade.

We ranked 70th in total defense last year. We had no DL coach and no LB coach.

Our offense ranked 109th last year.

What happens if our offense jumps to a top 20 offense (which it will) and our defense jumps, to say, 45th. What is our win total?

Oh and by the way, KY, which for some reasons TN fans think we're going to lose to them, they ranked 108th in offense last year. They aren't going to be much better if they are better at all. We will beat them, and we'll do it easily.

Mizzou, oh Mizzou is so good! They've found a QB! They ranked 79th in offense. They'll be better, but they won't make the jump we will on offense. They also ranked 85th in defense. So scary!

I think we'll get 7-8. 10 is possible in that scenario. I think 9 is potential with what we know now, but feel like it'll be 7-8.

What amazed me was how awful Drew Lock looked his FR year before Hype arrived. He threw twice as many INTs as TDs...they scored 8 points against us...8! The very next year year they scored 37 and he was zipping dimes all over the place and throwing for 3,400 yards.

It's going to happen here. I know it's hard to be optimistic, but this dude knows offense and QB play. It's going down. Would anyone say that Gabriel is more talented than HB or Milton? He's not. And yet he threw for 3600 yards as a freshman, and 3500 yards in a shortened season last year. He threw 32 freaking touchdowns in 10 games last year. It's about to go down, y'all.

I'd take 8 wins right now and run. I don't think in year 1 we'll outscore Kiffin and Corral, but you never know. He's liable to throw 5 interceptions at any time, so we'll see. Their defense will still be garbage.

I think the skill level is there to be decent….. Hope Tim Banks is the man.

How about the flu? What if, prior to every football or other sporting event they tested all coaches and players, and anyone with the flu, even if they felt fine, was eliminated from play?

It’s all so political now that medical science and previous protocols have been pushed aside…just all stupid as hell…

They were bad on offense last season, fired their OC and replaced him with an unproven installing a polar opposite scheme. Blueprint for success. Why is it only us who undergo growing pains when we switch things up?

Heupel hiring the DC he did is also big imo. I think getting someone eager to establish themselves as "the guy" will help elevate play on that side of the ball more than he had at UCF even.
