Here's the thing... they think fan backlash is bad now? Wait til these guys fail. We're going to see a level of bad fan behavior that didn't exist at the college level when stuff like this was on the dl. They're not going to get the same 'he's just a kid, pass' they did before.

Very much so.

Some small nugs:: JC probably won’t play till game 3….Chemistry is good on the team….. had some chemistry issues on defense in the beginning but they are gone now….Team likes Joe although some complaints about catching his passes when he lets one rip… asked about dobrucky and was told that he is older and a few of them may prefer Bailey but it’s not an issue at all on the team….asked about Big O and he said he was tearing it up so it may be motivational not listed on the depth chart…. Surprised by Blakely but stated that he was a very aggressive player this year.

Hey dobrucky, here’s your walking papers you **** starting drama queen….

That my exact thought when I saw this today. Imagine the media rushing to get Twitter likes from opposing fan bases. Imagine the pressure on the athletes to preform. They will be more concerned with what is best for them instead of the team. Imagine being a coach trying to manage the well paid player and the unpaid players plus dealing with the boosters wanting the ones they backed to do well for business sake. 😖

It's a nightmare. And putting all of this out there on the front yard is a major mistake. Being able to enjoy the benefits they did without the public 'knowing' (even though it's always been an open secret) is also something they're going to miss because it gave them the freedom to be kids and a level of protection from both criticism and the full consequences of their mistakes. However, driving around in a fancy car while talking about your endorsement deal is everything everyone hated about Johnny Football and why there was no shortage of people waiting for him to crash and burn. Now we have players and recruits that are gainfully employed adults who are making more for riding a bench or before they ever set foot on campus than many fans will see in a lifetime. It's going to build resentment. The type of thing we used to write off as dumb college kid being a dumb college kid isn't written off so easily when the kid in question has a contract, pays taxes, and is a participant in the adult world in a way normal college kids aren't.

There's a reason we don't consider enlistees in the Army kids the same way we do college students -- the ones in the military (or working civilian jobs) have been handed both a paycheck and adult responsibilities. With those checks, cars, and trucks being handed out publicly and legally college athletes just got handed adult responsibilities they never had before.

I’m just so tired of being up 28-10 in the fourth on a team we’re favored by 34 against. I want to see us scoring literally at will. I want a 70-7 game. I think Heupel does too. He wants to show out to start the season and build some excitement. I think he will if he can.

Well there was a rule with JG that we were not allowed to score more than 28 points total in any given game. I will be thrilled to see us score more than 28 points for the first time in what feels like forever.

The only thing worth watching Thursday is to see if JH has this team well organized and disciplined.

BG isn’t an opponent to learn anything against. Milton shouldn’t be judged until the Pitt game

Heck if our guys line up properly CJH and staff have already done something the previous staff couldn’t do in 3 years….
