Love this staff and how we have kids coming through every week.

We are going to be elite again very soon. Bringing my kids to their first Vols game this year (vs WVU). Going to get them on the bandwagon now. Perfect timing.

Give your drunk prediction for 2018-10 season. You must be/get chit faced to post here.

The vowels will go 10-2 worth coach Pruitt getting into a fist fight with the corch of the docks at mid field after the game and kicking his ass to a pulp. Then will go to the gator bowl and get run by Wisconsin cause Pruitt let the boyz party like rock stars on the beach with much hoes.

I'm probably still able to register on a breathalizer after the short nap separating "last night" and "this morning"..

Beat WVU in a shocker.

Lose by a significant margin between the hedges after an emotional run. It happens. ESPN will talk about us crashing back down to earth and how we still have a long ways to go.

Upset Auburn because they're the most unpredictable team in the nation. Expect them to be good, they underperform; expect them to be meh, the upset Bama and hit 10 wins. They're projected 2nd in the West, so that means an 8-4 season with Tennessee being the head-scratcher. They just gave Mahlzan an extension. 5-1 (2-1)

Bama at home could actually be a game, but don't expect this to be the one where the student finally bests the master.

I don't have a lot of faith in Carolina being a great team next year or in the future, but they'll always have the defense under Muschamp to be a tough out. Unfortunately because they're the end of our gauntlet, plus the very real Bama hangover, plus they'll be coming off a bye, this might be one of those flat games for us. Enough to piss Pruitt and the rest of the staff of and have a fire lit under our asses for the rest of the year. 5-3 (2-3)

And run the table for the rest of the year. Charlotte: cupcake.

LOL at any idiot thinking just because we went 4-8 last year that we have a legit shot at losing at home to Kentucky. Not gonna happen. We start another 28-year streak against them with Pruitt and Fulmer running the thing now. It's not basketball.

Mizzou thinks they got a good OC, but they don't know that Dooley has a losing SEC record at Neyland (that hurts to type). They'll find out Lock can't throw for a whole lotta yards if he's planted into the turf every other dropback.

Vandy. See: Kentucky. 9-3 (5-3)

Finish 3rd in the East behind UGA and Carolina (via tie-breaker), ahead of Florida (4-4) Mizzou (3-5), Kentucky (2-6), and Vandy (who cares)... Ranked ~20th.. Outback Bowl v. an actually dangerous B1G team-- Michigan State, Penn State, or Michigan, not an automatic win. If we lose the bowl, it's still a successful season, as Pruitt's first year would equal Butch's best years.

Recruiting takes off as we hang onto all our current guys, add Wright, Crouch, McCollough, Hill, To'oto'o, Bogle, Hill, Washington, Wilhoite, and who knows who else. That right there would put us at three 5*s, thirteen 4*s, and however many 3*s we currently have.

People are going to laugh at you, but this is likely as well as we could possibly do. I still say 7-5, but what you propose is not out of the realm of possibilities. I am an admitted sunshine pumper because it's more fun to be optimistic than all gloom and doom.

I’ve been watching a lot of WV games from last season and I actually expect to win that game. They cannot stop the run at all. A small KSU running back had 120 yards in the first half with little support from the run game.

We need to run the ball 40 times, control the clock, set JG up with easy passes and play action.

Then let goon squad do their thing. Grier is not as good as people hype him up to be. He’s solid but I do not see the first or second round hype he’s been getting. He’s very average throwing down field and in so many games teams had him dead to rights in the backfield but just didn’t make the sack. I also noticed he is pretty bad against the blitz. Their run game is a bigger concern IMO but they lost their running back from last year I think.

I say 28-14 Vols. But they score late garbage TDs. WGWTFA

This is absolutely a reasonable best-case scenario.

My most realistic predictions are losing a close one to WVU, still possibly beating Florida, sadly going 0-fer against UGA, Auburn, Bama, Carolina, but hopefully finishing strong. Mizzou could definitely beat us if our defense doesn't bow up down the stretch. W's against 3 cupcake OOC, Kentucky, Vandy, and splitting Florida/Mizzou.

I tend to be an optimist this time of year. That said, considering last year we crapped the bed to lose to Florida, Carolina, and Kentucky, we should have gone bowling last year under better coaching/leadership. We still have the talent to be competitive in 75% of our games.

Bottom line, as tough as the schedule is, we've got all the elements to go bowling. Most outlets are predicting us to be awful because our record was awful last year and/or because of an embarrassing coaching search. Our limitations at OL, Secondary, and S&C are going to prevent us from beating the great teams, but it's not like we can't overcome what middling, unimpressive, "steady" teams like what Kentucky and Mizzou can throw at us.
