Could be since he’s already listed at 265. Just think OT he would need to get up to over 300 while he could play DE at 285 or so.

Have no idea his body type/frame or how much weight he could add. Big athletic bodies are much needed wherever he ends up.

Seems like he can play a few different spots which is probably why we like him. However anyone not recruiting him as a TE will not be considered by him

I should have clarified on Beal. Are you sure he will commit to us?

It’s between us and A&M for Beal. And from what I have read, UT has been surging with him here recently.

And FWIW, I think ultimately he ends up at DE. Bama and LSU were recruiting him on the DL. We just have too many bodies at TE (Pope, DWA, Eli Wolf, Fant, James Brown).

Beal gonna end up a 3-4 end before all is said and done I think

This makes the most sense

there was also talk of moving bumphus to DL, and that might make some room for Beal at TE.

there was talk in the Beal thread that he preferred to stay on offense, at TE and not move to DL...word was the coaches were recruiting him at TE.

things can change of course.

Unlikely he picks us but you never know...

There was an article on 247 Sports saying Bumphus was a potential move to DE. Which would make so much sense since he was recruited to play DE by Pruitt at Alabama. That’d make room for Beal at TE for us. DWA, Beal, Wolf jr, Pope, Brown and Craig

Not shooting the messenger here, but why in God's name do we need 6 TEs on the roster?

I know this is severely over-simplifying the makeup of a college football roster. But, with the 85 man limit, it seems that you would have something pretty close to 4 deep for every position on offense and defense. I realize that's 88, so there would have to be some wiggle room somewhere, and that doesn't count long-snappers, kickers and punters.

It just seems odd that 2-3 "extra" tight ends would be taking roster spots from positions of more significant need.

They want to run more multiple te sets with blocking te's more involved and there aren't really any blocking te's on the roster. Beal would maybe be the best blocking te on the roster the second he stepped on campus.

You might want to try breaking down the scholarships. 6 is the bare minimum you want for players like that. And that’s only when you have three Y-type blocking types and three H-type pass-catching types.

Wolf/Whitten Y
Helm/Rivera H

I’m fairly certain Craig is a PWO too. After Ethan leaving we don’t really have anyone proven at that position.

I've got a feeling we're in for some signing day surprises.

I say we finish with -

1. Quay Walker
2. Taiyon Palmer
3. Jacob Copeland
4. John Mincey
5. Otito Ogbonnia
6. Jashaun Corbin - He was committed here once and I think he really wants to be here.

Typical UGA fan looking at the roster:

“Yep, everything’s fine.”

They are in complete denial about their seniors leaving. In their minds, they are reloading with true freshmen and will beat Bama for the NC next year. I am seriously starting to hate UGA fans more than Bama fans.

Let be honest if we signed the players they have lately we would be saying same thing

I think Corbin goes to aTm and Copeland to UF. Some of the others on that list have also been trending elsewhere, but we have a puncher's chance at least. It just seems like we should be able to beat out NC St (Palmer) and USCe (Mincey) for prospects we really want. With Ogbonnia I think it just depends on whether or not he wants to leave the state. TTech would be the easy choice for him, but we have obvious appeal, and mamma reportedly enjoyed the trip to Knoxville. With Walker it's a heavyweight fight with UGA. I feel optimistic about that one.
