Imo he wouldn’t have been successful if he had came here either. Not under the previous staff. Under the new staff?? Who knows. I still wasn’t super impressed with him in HS.

I wasn’t either. I figured it was good for our class to have a highly rated guy on board and all. But I never really expected him to live up to the #1 QB ranking.

Don’t let the hilarity of the HJ transfer from Clemson distract you from the fact that the Braves are the best team in the NL. 😁

False. Stanton was the only player the Yankees poured out the money for. Red Sox have the highest payroll in MLB. Yankees are sixth, I believe.

Bankees are known for buying guys up. They’re good. But the Braves will be better in the coming years with all the young talent they have. We’re just getting started.

Plus 7 of their starting nine are homegrown (and their #1 Severino)

Not sure where he’s getting that old narrative. The Yankees have a great farm system that’s spitting out really great young players.

It’s an old narrative for sure. I hate the Yankees but don’t keep up with them. But let’s not act like they don’t have a history of buying guys.

I gotcha, they definitely did. They’ve really changed some philosophies the past 5 years. Steinbrenner dying certainly was a catalyst for that.

Hunter Johnson was huge in negative peer recruiting against UT. He was instrumental in the Tee Higgins flip and was in the ears of other recruits, back when he had everybody believing he was going to be a standout. I hope he goes to Purdue or Northwestern, instead of somewhere like UK.

Different model Yankees. These are mostly home grown talent, which was the core of the great Yankee’s team of the 90’s. That was a by-product of their approach to team building without George Steinbrenner (suspended for the Dave Winfield garbage). Now they’re doing it the same way after his death.

Yeah, learned that earlier. I just hate the Yankees but don’t follow them. They are good this year tho no doubt.

We don't recruit Kentucky level players. Plus, Hunter has to sit a year. Aint skeered.

The rays and rangers both said the same thing. Those windows close quick and are no guarantees
