The intern almost beat them in 2015. We’ll have a chance in 2020 and after
Bama gets new players just like we do. We will compete with them after 3 recruiting cycles if Pruitt recruits like we all believe he can. That 2015 game was fun but if you ever go rewatch it Bama played us almost like we just played Charlotte. They dropped about three interceptions, they played lazy until the final few minutes, etc. I think they underestimated us and we almost stole one. Arkansas has come close to beating them several times as well for similar reasons.
My point is we won’t have the players to line up and match them man for man, fully rested, for a long long time.
What mistakes did Butch make vs bama in 15 that caused us to lose? If anything he had that roster playing above their talent level that gameBama gets new players just like we do. We will compete with them after 3 recruiting cycles if Pruitt recruits like we all believe he can.
A good coach could have won a lot of games, including the bama game, with that 2015/16 roster

We don’t have to recruit number 1. Top 10 like LSU has done and we’re competing with them in 2020.I think he will recruit a notch or two below Bama for the first few years honestly. No one is recruiting at Bama’s level except maybe UGA.
The 2015/2016 roster was very nice but it clearly wasn’t very deep.
Which is why we can recruit to a level to be able to compete much faster than many are acting like. We might not have the depth we all want in 2020, but we should be very talented and able to compete with anyone if Pruitt recruits the type of players it seems like he’s going to. And we know this staff can develop them. They’ve done it everywhere they’ve ever beenYea, our team is. However our program isn’t, it’s a big difference
