Don't get all the Bob hate. Sure, he's no John Ward, but then, who is? I'd rather hear Bob and Tim than all of those bozos that CBS, ESPN and SEC put on. And if he calls a player Betty Schnell, or Tua Tanga-viola, well, that's just Bob doing Bob.
I think Kesling struggles with the play-by-play. It's much more difficult to do on the radio, as you have to paint a picture as a play evolves, while constantly updating the game situation (yard line, down, yards for a first down, etc.). Kesling just doesn't do this very well (especially for those of us spoiled by Ward), and it can be frustrating if you're not watching the game simultaneously. You're left wondering what the hell happened, sometimes 20-30 seconds after the play ended.
I like Bob on the Kickoff Call-In Show, Vol Calls, etc. It seems more his element. And it helps having Tim Priest in the booth to break down the play afterward, and inject occasional emotional outbursts. But Kesling's play-by-play, at least in football, can be confusing.
