Ainge just said he wouldn't let his son play for Freeze! Ainge of all people who has had issues in the past. I'm sure he's changed his life and I'm glad. But that's a wierd stance from someone in his position in my opinion.

I just don't get it.....
Hypocrite! He gets a 2nd chance but Freeze doesn’t deserve one?

I don’t see it as apples to apples.

I think Ainge’s drug abuse was a victimless crime. I personally wouldn’t be worried that my adult son being around him now would be at risk of being influenced to use drugs by him. I can’t even think how that might happen outside some extreme unlikely scenario.

As for Freeze, his probalem is morality. I despise those fake Christian hypocrites and I don’t want that person to be a role model for my kid unless I know they’ve changed.

My step-father was a recovered addict and he was the greatest Influence on my life, so I am obviously a bit biased too
Only problem I have with this is to say that drug abuse is a victimless crime. The addict is a victim of the drug even if they chose to take it, and I know several that became addicted when taking pain medication for medical issues. Also, the whole family is affected by someone addicted not to mention the criminal aspect.

somebody's going to hire him. and it's probalby going to be somebody in the SEC.

all you gotta decide is if the juice is wotht he squeeze. and i'm willing to bet at least one of our main rivals will find out.
Yeah somebody in this league is probably going to hire him. Might as well be us.
Exactly. I can’t stand Urban Cryer. He gets away with everything. And Freeze being an assistant and not the HC, is drastically different. I doubt he’d do it, it I think it’d be a great move to do some kind of interview with Herbie or some other college analyst and just talk about what he learned and what he’s done to reconcile with his wife and family. I’ve always thought that if politicians, athletes and others who’ve had allegations against them would just address them immediately, you’d removed the ammo from your enemies.
Wouldn't be the worst idea. Freeze is smooth.

I guess I am in the minority, but as the father of young men age 19 and 21, I also would have hesitation in allowing them to play for CHF. I have taught my sons to respect women and hiring prostitutes is the polar opposite of that. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but the East Tn values I was raised with seem to work for me and mine. Ok I'll go back to lurking now.

I agree if that behavior is continuing but being old fashioned generally is coupled with believing in a forgiving redeeming God.

Sure - but again, we’re talking about the margins. If, say, Freeze is 10% better than Lindsey in Pruitts mind - Let’s just say that’s the case - is 10% worth the PR hit?

Also, is it worth taking that hit for a guy with no assurances that he’s not simply using your job as a springboard for another job?
Of course he'd be using it as a stepping stone.

So I went back and looked at Freeze's record at Ole Miss. 2012-2016. Against P5 opponents his record was 22-24. Could it be that we are anchoring our opinion on Freeze from his Fluke wins against Bama, while all the while ignoring that was the defintion of mediocre. Just saying.
Did he not go to three New Year's Six bowl games? We're talking about Ole Miss here.

So heard from a friend who heard it from a friend who later said they didn't hear it

Yet VN equates him to a criminal of the worst kind

Smh

Not necessarily. He isn't a criminal, but the question is if he is "hireable." Two totally different things.

Although it is tough for him, you can make the determination that we just don't want to go there if there is even a remote chance that it is true. You can hire who you want.
