So he's just hanging out at the Anderson training facility while Pruitt and Fulmer decide and other coaches are out recruiting? I'm sure this is very accurate. I can totally picture him sitting in the lobby by the elevator. Anxiously awaiting some news. Elevator door opens and Pruitt gets off:
Hugh- "Any news yet Coach Pruitt?"

CJP- "No Hugh wish I had something for ya"

Hugh- "Ok I'll be here anxiously waiting to let Dan Harralson know"

CJP- "Aight" (with one eyebrow raised)

While I agree it sounds odd, I don’t that he’d actually be at Anderson holding out hope. I don’t know what to make of it either.

If Freeze is on campus, not knowing what the hold up is, I wouldn’t think it is a Pruitt-Freeze communication breakdown. It is probably something in the piss poor UT administration being as incompetent as ever.

I'm right there with ya. Image I've got is all of them huddled around liked in the scene from The Waterboy laughing at the other coach while looking at his playbook, except here it's looking at twitter, volnation. Etc.

I like the freeze hire (if it is true). What makes anyone think he can take an offense that had a really shaky oline and lost three more starters. Some people in the business say Friend is one of the best (I wouldn’t know or be able to tell). Is hugh going to wave a magic wand and the oline going to block well and we be able to run 178 a game and pass for 275 a game and score 30 points. I sure hope so, but man when he is in his 3rd sec game and we have only been averaging 18 points he will get lit up like a Christmas tree.

The thinking is he will bring in better recruits faster and then have more explosive results faster. Whoever it is will still have to deal with where we are now.

Just seeing the news of Mel leaving. This is HUGE...can’t tell you how much a blow to recruiting for UGA that loss is. This will be just what the doctor ordered for us coming into the stretch with some of these guys...UGA folks will try and downplay it but the guys over there “in the know” will be very concerned at how this will affect the recruiting

Austin Thomas is the guys name and the only situation I recall that happening on. If I was Pruitt or Fulmer I would’ve said no thanks as well. Potentially cancerous situation giving someone that much power.

Thomas is at A&M now in an assistant AD role. Believe he wanted to get more on the business end of things rather than just running recruiting.

Agree players LOVE Mel. Was a reason i would’ve been happy if we hired him as our head coach.
