NFL teams should be throwing boat loads of cash at guys like Dabo, Venables, Saban, jimbo Fisher instead they hire guys like Lafluer, and talk to the Klingsbury and Rhules of the world that have proven nothing in college or NFL

NFL is a different beast. Gotta outscheme the opponent way more than in college. Dabo would get eaten alive in the NFL.

Ehh maybe. But Clemson coaches aren’t known to leave under Dabo. Think they said only 3 have(could have miss heard that tho)
It would be a big promotion though that he won't get there anytime soon with 2 oc's ahead of them.

We are pretty far away...

The gap is wide.
What is pretty far away? We've endured over ten years of absolute garbage. Let's not focus on the mountain. Let's focus on the next step.

Get the program back to where it's consistently beating South Carolina, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.

Bass was right on the money several pages back...this is a project. It's not happening overnight. You don't erase ten years of incompetence overnight. You can feel bad about it, or you can enjoy the few precious months of Tennessee football we get. This season wasn't what I wanted, but that Auburn game was REALLY special. So I've got something to hold onto. I'll worry about Clemson and Alabama when I have a reason to.

Just touch the cloak of someone around their football program and we in bidness.

You act like Saban and Dabo want to go to the NFL. Saban makes more than Gruden, and Dabo cares about college kids.

The NFL is a whole different game. Kelly, Petrino, Saban (kind of), Spurrier got chewed up and spit out in the NFL. Pete Carrol started in the NFL first. Harbaugh was a success.

No it isn't, but it's pretty close to what Clemson's was 4 years ago. Hey, if Harrison Bailey is as good as people think, who knows what can happen with that kind of QB and Pruitt's defense.

The biggest difference is the culture the freshman will walk in to. It's hard to quantify, but I think it's a lot easier and allows freshman to develop more if they come into a program where the older players lead by example and they don't have to be the backbone.

But if our incoming class can set the foundation like the players on the teams known for "clemsoning" then the program will be in a good place

After tonight I do what to think. Bama showed how much good coaching they have had and it wasmt just their talent. Pruitt is a good defensive coach can he find a good enough offensive coach
