I understand that many would rate Pittman higher than Friend as OL coach. How would you compare Pittman to Tee as a recruiter.
I would say Tee may have a slight advantage over all, but believe Pittman would be helpful in lineman which we need. I honestly haven't went and compared the 2 as far as that goes but really like the OL's he's coached.

A lot of offenses smoked us. Lol. But when I look at Clemson’s offense and Ga’s offense, I’d rather have Clemson’s ALL DAY. Just my take. For me, it’s a 7 out of 10. Good thing about Chaney is that he does bring stability and a lifetime coordinator. I doubt he moves again and that’s what Pruitt needs. So in that regard, it’s great. Hopefully he can mesh some innovation from Osevet into his playbook.

Chaney was one of the OCs that made the spread popular, he knows multiple styles. He'll run a multi style I believe.

Predictions:
1. Jennings in the wildcat
2. Ty (if healthy) breaks 1500 from scrimmage
3. Over 2500 passing yards & 20 passing TDs

Chaney is a good hire guys.

Pruitt concentrated on what he knew was a more pressing issue, our talent level.

Also, with Chaney you can pretty much etch in stone WR commits

This one honestly came down to Kirby not wanting to keep him in the end for the money we were willing to pay. It worked out well IMO though.

It's a big win for us. Chaney will retire here if he and Pruitt are successful. I just want continuity, and this will essentially ensure we get both on offense and defense. Now there's nothing left to do but sit back and watch the program claw its way back to relevancy.

Chaney is not coming here......at least as of Sat evening it seemed like it was totally dead.
Why do you think Atlanta Vol said Chaney is not coming here?
Vols made big push today after many long discussions in the last several weeks. Considering the other options, it's a really nice move by Pruitt. As AP noted on the podcast yesterday, Chaney checks lots of boxes of what Pruitt was looking for: He's not a renowned recruiter, but he knows how to call plays, has been in the SEC for years and has developed multiple QBs. This is a big win for JG, especially.

Tennessee is ponying up for Chaney, too, with the expected salary (not including the buyout) to be at least what Helton received in 2018.

Lastly, while many have tied Chaney to Sam Pittman, there is no current package deal in the works for the UGA OL coach.
-Simonton

He said as of Saturday it seemed dead. Negotiations change constantly as Simonton’s post alludes to. Maybe he thought he was going to stay as of Saturday, but we made him an offer he couldn’t refuse today....

Will Friend is a good OL coach, we're not struggling there, but pittman is viewed as an upgrade.

Martin would be a hell of an add to the staff, if for nothing else than his recruiting ability. so if pruitt values that, and see's it as adding more value than someone else on the staff currently, go make the change.

personally, hope he does. i won't be upset if he doesn't, but there are some dominos that could fall that could lead to Martin being on Bama's staff.

that would suck. and then i would be upset.
I agree and understand, I'm not saying I'm unhappy with Friend as OL coach I just think if we could get Pittman here him n Friend would compliment each other and build a dominant OL group. I like you would be happy to see Tee if he's added but I'm not gonna throw a hissy if it don't happen and we roll with what we have. Not knocking him cause I don't know what all he brings behind the scenes but if we have to part ways with someone I'd choose Weinke and retain the rest. Just my opinions of course.

well, we set the bar pretty high with Helton. so 1.5M/year sounds about right, if you're really thinking about upgrading. and i think we did.

guess we're more serious than GA is. good luck with Coley.

Why are HCs negotiating anyway? I never understood that. I thought they told their AD who they wanted and let them do that. Maybe he wanted QB duties again and that was in Kirby’s hands.

Cool. I guess.

I was hoping for a young and innovative OC but this will do. Just feels like a retread. Don’t @ me. Lol. I want to be wrong and hope I am. I think he’s a good coordinator and coach and even better man. I hope Tee comes too. That’ll change my mind a lot.

BOO BOOO HISS HISS Who let this FF in. (j/k on the last part) lol
