How does the "guaranteed money" in a rookie deal work if the player quits football after his first or second year to play another sport? Do you have to give a prorated amount of the guaranteed money back?
Far as I understand it you have 2 kinds.

Signing bonus & per Game. If you have a 30 game contract and are on roster for 30 games you make 100% of that guaranteed money. You retire, sitout, etc. You are only paid the per game rate & they keep the rest.

Signing bonus is better cause you get it as a lump sum when you sign. Some guys spread it out as a per year, some take it all at once.

To the football dads in here, I signed my kid up for NCSA to help with recruiting. Looking at the upcoming rivals camps. He’s class of 2022. What else can I do to increase exposure? His school is 6A here in MS. He’ll be a 2nd string ILB in a 3-4 to start the season on Varsity. His school films practices and all that good stuff.

Thanks, very helpful

Murray signed a 5 million guaranteed deal with the A’s. I know him potentially being a first round pick he’ll likely make more but let’s not act like he’s struggling.
4.66 according to spotrac

Agreed he is in a good situation, wonder if he can dual sport it Deion/Bo style?

Don't forget University camps. Also, tell him to not let the big dogs get more reps than him.

Create a Hudl, and create footage. Game highlights yearly seem good. Also track his camp numbers and keep up with them.

A 40 time at a specific camp is gonna hold more water than his team time. Pass along his Hudl/info to media and ask his coaches to do the same.

Camp at as many schools as possible. You want college coaches to find him - go directly to them.
