What are you talking about.... with 1.1 seconds they got a WIDE OPEN shot. How can you criticize that? Now I agree the kids should have taken the layup. Can only assume it was already discussed that they wanted to go for the won.
Belmont sat on the ball too long before going into their O. You can do that in a tie game, but not when you are behind. Go score and play D in that situation. It's a shame, they played well overall.
I was being a good bit facetious. You can data analyze all day long and still not account for some of the crazy upsets. I am sure you can spend a lot of time analyzing and creating these margins, but I prefer to spend my time elsewhere. For the average Joe, there is a good bit of luck involved.
Certainly, though it is "live", they know the eyes of the world are on them. Which is why bodycams should be on every police officer, for both sides' safety and fidelity.Ypu will see only only what they what you to see. I highly doubt they would ever show something that would put them in a bad light.
