I think you guys who want to fire Holly need to make a lot more noise if you really want her fired. I mean coming into the season she was ranked #3 for active coaches in the SEC for career winning percentage at 73.9% and now she is at 72%. The 2 players on her team this year with the most playing time were both ESPN 5-star sophomores, one a wing, the other a guard. She signed 2 more ESPN 5-stars to the incoming class, one a guard, the other a 6’5” post. The player on this year’s squad with the 4th most minutes was a Freshman, also an ESPN 5-star guard.
It looks to me like for the most part in the games we lost we didn’t shoot very well. I figure she could win maybe 7 of those 13 next year just on improved shooting alone. I’m telling you it’s going to be a lot harder to fire her next year is she gets to 26+ wins. It’s now or it may be never.
Coach Summit was a once in the life of the universe treasure for our program. If just anyone could measure up to the mark she achieved then she didn’t really stand out all that much after all, did she?
In all seriousness, I suspect getting rid of Holly is one of the last things on Fulmer’s mind at least for another couple of years so if you want to get his attention on this matter I think you really need to consider making more noise, not that I think that will make a difference. But hey, letting off steam sometimes makes a person feel better.
One last thing. I’m a bit pissed off that some of you have made me take a real interest in the Lady Vols basketball program for the first time in my life. Thankfully, spring practice resumes on Tuesday and I can get back to focusing on what is really important. #GLV
