247Deangelo Gibbs was working with the safeties during the open portion of today's practice.
The Georgia transfer had been with the wide receivers for all of spring before this afternoon.
Obviously Gibbs played defensive back at Georgia so he didn't look too much out of his depth there on the defensive side of the ball.
chargervol1@gmail.comGood luck! Sending you some healing vibes. If you want, I know of some breathing techniques that help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, release serotonin and oxytocin, and are great for pain management and anxiety. I work with people that have differing, exceptional health conditions (cancer, scoliosis, etc). Meditation and pranayama (breath control) work wonders.
So I guess you would rather have a mediocre-crappy no-star recruiting staff since the really good ones can't do as good as you think they should?...Ok..but seems like a stupid plan to me.![]()
See you in a couple of minutes.I can't believe how bad you missed my point.. holy crap this place is absolutely hilarious, only reading parts of discussions from other folks, then making a snap judgment when they don't even understand the point. I'm saying that at this point this ALL STAR staff should be pulling in top 10 classes every year based on their experience and if we are going to catch up to the GA's AL's FL's, nevermind the LSU and A&M's anytime soon, we are going to need this class coming up to be at a minimum a top 5, which is what many have said and agreed on... The class we just signed is definitely a step in the right direction and building block, but we need to do better in the next 3 class cycles if we are going to have a chance to catch up...... LORD... I'm officially out until fall. this place has truly become a bunch of morans.
After Saturday’s first full scrimmage of the spring, Tennessee was back at it Tuesday.
The media saw just two open periods of practice, and here are some quick notes from a cool April afternoon…
Jeremy Pruitt spent a bit of time with each of the various defensive units Tuesday, starting with the OLBs. He praised Deandre Johnson and Kivon Bennett for two strong reps in an explosion drill. Bennett and Darell Taylor, who had a nice scrimmage as a pass rusher, later received some tough coaching from Chris Rumph on the same drill.
Pruitt then went and briefly watched the DL, where Tracy Rocker had no lover affair with his group today. Working on leverage and pass rush moves, Rocker made multiple guys re-do reps. John Mincey, JaQuain Blakely and Aubrey Solomon all received various critiques from Rocker.
The inside linebackers focused a lot on avoiding cut-blocks during the one drill I saw. Meanwhile, the corners and safeties continued their work across the field with Derrick Ansley. Tyus Fields is still with the safeties. Interestingly, Deangelo Gibbs was with the safeties today, too, after spending the first half of spring at receiver. Also, Baylen Buchanan remains limited and continues to mostly participate without a helmet. Alontae Taylor, who got banged up a bit in the scrimmage, was present.
Offensively, the Vols worked various half-line drills. Jerome Carvin looked to get work with the 1s again. Jahmir Johnson and Wanya Morris rotated at left tackle. Notably, Trey Smith took multiple reps in the drill at left guard, working with Carvin and Johnson. Nathan Niehaus and Marcus Tatum rotated at right tackle. Brandon Kennedy was taking some real reps today, too.
Vols 2020 quarterback commit Harrison Bailey was in the house Tuesday, keeping a close eye on Chris Weinke and Jim Chaney during the two open periods.
Couple more injury notes I forgot to add: Kurott Garland was still just doing conditioning on the side. Hopefully we'll get an update on his status tonight from Pruitt. Eric Gray was working with the rest of the RBs, same for Chris Akporoghene and the OL.
All the prayers.Tomorrow, 1st procedure in attempt to alleviate some of the pain and swelling.
I would let them cut into me with dual chainsaws at this point, if they guaranteed me less pain afterwards.
Miss being able to focus enough to carry on conversations here but read what I can.
Any of them positive vibes and "good lucks" you have laying around, sure would be appreciated. Because something's got to give.
How does he unwind?
The simple answer? He doesn’t really. He doesn’t think he needs to.
No, seriously. That’s what he said.
“Really you never get away from it — and, to be honest, I don’t need to,” Pruitt said. “I have the best job in the world. I get a chance to represent one of the best universities in the country. I get to do what I love to do. I get to coach young people, try to have a positive impact on student-athletes, hopefully give them tools that will help them have success and accomplish their goals."
