I don't like your JFC bombs, either. I know ydgaf but I'm expressing my opinion. I was traveling yesterday, but that should not matter as I am unaware of any current statute of limitations in responding to 'poseds.Whatever gave you the impression:
1. i wasn’t aware of that
or
B. I sought a “shield” for what I said
Also this convo was yesterday. Any other old news you wanna discuss like the Challenger explosion or the Black Dhalia murder?
Jesus we’re a ****ing mess rn
Mullen is kinda lookin like all smoke and mirrors right now. If we have the season I think we're gonna have the fanbase is gonna riot.
‘19 class looking like it’s held together with lube.
We can’t really lose Steele and Black, right? That’s both players in 2019 that people say are 5-star talents without being 5-stars.
Lmao this 2019 class is really going to be without three 4-star kids and 2 top 150 kids before our first game is played.
Jesus. That's 3 of our most important recruits out of the class by May. This "9th" ranked class was a bunch of smoke and mirrors built on taking guys with character, injury, and grade concerns that put off other schools. Whatever happened to all that stuff I heard that Mullen would vet the kids and they wouldn't be able to sign if they weren't gonna be able to get in? Could it be that he was desperate on the recruiting trail and reached for kids with red flags? Surely not, its UGA who is the house of cards.
Have we heard any kind of update on Arjei? Is he good to go?
The volcanic meltdown the boards would be if he couldn’t go
If Areji doesn’t make it, someone on the staff has gotta go
it's clear that this administration is not committed to football. We can have the moral victory by saying we don't take kids unless they live up to our prestigious academic standards but the truth is any real football school would have found a way. Dan will not have success unless certain people get the hell out of his way.
whatever, we deserve it. We're a laughing stock
Steele was running with the 1’s for a lot of this Spring. He wasn’t starting over Marco, but he was going to be the first guy off the bench at CB. People want to act like that wasn’t a significant loss, and while it’s not earth shattering, we still lost a guy who was going to be a major contributor this season.
The dumpster fire has gasoline constantly being poured onto it.
Mullen is who we thought he was. A boring hire who’s never going to win big, but will steady the ship. He won a game or two more than he was supposed to last year, then scooped up enough desperation takes that it looked like he exceeded expectations in recruiting.
That bill is coming due now, and so it feels like the sky is falling. But ultimately he’ll keep recruiting at a Top 15 level and winning 9-10 games a year until/unless the admin decides that isn’t good enough.
Great another lost decade of mediocrity
looks that way. I feel like it's not all on Mullen, obviously some staff changes need to happen and that's 100% on him but at the same time I don't think this happens at MSST or any high level football program. I guess the positive spin is he now knows he can't curtail the university standards the way he could at MSST. Maybe he should only target BC kids who are on the honor roll?
Paging @WriterVol. I figured you'd want to read this.
Liverpool’s point total would have been enough to win every Premier League title going back till at least 1992, with the exception of this and last season.
Tough, being the third best team in 27 years and to not win the title
I have to turn off that part of my brain anytime I read things posted online. Even the professional "writers" need editors. It's working pretty well these days. The facial tics are almost gone.
Devo, you really shouldn't be sharing your password with @ChattaTNVolI know many are still a bit down on recruiting so far - but look at it as far as quality. Not counting our Long Snapper (a position that will NEVER be rated a 4 star, just like punters, kickers, etc), we now have an average recruit ranking of 90.25 and 4 4-stars out of 6 recruits. That is a 66% blue chip ratio. It's been said the magic percentage for blue chippers (4*/5*) is 50% of your recruits over the previous 4 years to be a serious national contender.
Last year's class had 14 out of 25 players (including Harris and using transfer ratings). That is 56% blue chippers.
This gives us a 2 year average so far of 58%. We may not be getting everyone we want so far, but we are getting the right quality of players and until we actually finish a class with a poor average recruit, I'll keep on the Pruitt crootin' train.
As a follow-up on this -
Pruitt's current running BCR (blue chip ratio) is precisely 50%, including his 2018 class that had to be quickly thrown together. I excluded all P/K/LS recruits for all classes.
Butch's tenure average was 39%.
Dooley's was 42%.
Not including 1st year classes (since it can be sort of hard to blame or reward them for a class that mostly wasn't theirs or had to be thrown together in a matter of weeks):
Pruitt - 58%
Butch - 43%
Dooley - 40%
I'd say, so far, Pruitt is a significant upgrade in the recruiting department.
Lastly, about that 50% golden mark. It is simply based on 4-year recruiting averages, no transfers or walk-ons have been included in the past (maybe this year's version will since 247 started re-rating transfers). It does not reflect any type of attrition either. So it is not the most reflective of a current roster, but it is still a great mark if you want to make the playoffs. All 4 playoff teams were on the BCR list last year. 13 teams made the list in total. Only 10 the year before.
Blue-Chip Ratio 2018: 13 teams have title-worthy recruiting
Our current average looks to be only 39%. We are still a ways away from getting on the list and I'm not sure if we have ever been on the list before, at least since Fulmer. I estimate we won't make the list until at least 2021 (2 more classes), mostly because 2017 was so bad (19%).
Our running average over time:

Patience grasshoppers, good things could be on the horizon as long as we can merely hold steady, at a minimum.
Hey @WriterVol you know any freelance copy editors who would be interested in proofing a novel?
