JG is no where near as bad as some of these fans make him out to be. Kid had two wasted years of development with Butch/DeBord/Chico/Grad assistant. He will explode this season. Alot of threads will be bumped I'm sure..

And unfortunately, I think you can add Helton to that list. He may be a better developer, but he didn't help him in much in play calling.

If Trey can play more than a few games before having issues, it should be much better. Depth will be a concern but if we stay healthy it could be a huge improvement to last year. Hopefully Wanya and Darnell can get acclimated quickly and really help us beat teams like Vandy/Missouri/Scar toss ups
Didn't LA just talk about defeatist attitude? And here you go, with your defeatist attitude.

Right now, Smith, Morris, Kennedy, Wright and JJohnson are our best players. JJohnson is versatile and can play wherever he's needed. His size held him back, but he's up to 300 pounds now-- maybe a bit more.

It'll be interesting to see how the other guys have developed in the offseason.

Add a big TE and we could be pretty stout as the season progresses. Jacob Warren has really bulked up, too.

I like this potential lineup. Best player at LT, both freshman inside at G, experience at C. Make it so please.

I get it. But--

A defeatist attitude tends to be self-fulfilling, which is why we've lost to them so many times in so many ways for so many years. UF players are conditioned to think they'll find a way to beat UT no matter what and UT players have become conditioned to think they'll find a way to lose to UF no matter what. And both sides get what they think they'll get, because beliefs trigger behavior, which influences outcomes.

Pruitt has little use for this kind of player mindset... which is why some players with certain attitudes and behavior patterns are no longer on the roster and others watch from the sidelines.

Oh, I agree for the players. Luckily these 18-22 year olds haven't been watching this play out as many times as I have over the last 29 years and hopefully haven't developed my sense of fatalism.

Kirby Smart on Jim Chaney moving to Tennessee:

"Jim did a tremendous job for us. I got a great relationship with him. He worked really hard at our place. He helped us develop to where we are, and we wish him nothing but the best.

I know he's going to across to one of our rivals, and we understand that and respect that. The fact he knows our personnel, I think that the game of football boils down to football players making plays, and there's not going to be anything that Jim Chaney or myself can do out there on that field that our players aren't going to control."

That's a pretty classy response on his part.
