How much more expensive did recruiting just get for us?

Thinking about it this is a awful lost. It could bring the team together and maybe we upset a team or two we shouldn't and end the season alright. More than likely this gets uglier before it gets pretty. I'll still tune in but my expectations couldn't be lower.

Realistically I'm going to say 4-8. We are a dogsh** team but we won't play this bad every week unless the team actually quits
4 or 5 is probably right.

They’ll figure 85% of the schematic issues out. I’m less confident they get this team to care, however.

These guys all talk about bringing Tennessee back. They don’t know what that means. It’s like when Josh smith was stunned we weren’t happy with consistently making a bowl game under Butch. The old Tennessee is a memory - one only the 25+ crowd can remember. It means nothing to 16-22 year olds.

Apathy is the gateway feeling to negaVoldom. Now, fulfill your destiny and take your place at Jack Burton’s side. Together we will usher in a new era of fandom. Flush out the terrible coaches and bring in the first ever dual head coaches of Urban Meyer and Mike Leach. Unlimited power!

Pass. And honestly, you seem a little too excited during these times.

Just another example of why we needed to hire a HC with experience. Leech would have and should have been choice 1. We would be way better off even with Les. Basketball program shows what happens with an experienced coach.

Mike Leach, a guy that many Vols fans would have loved to land, went 3-9 in 2014 (his third year), and lost to Portland State to open 2015 before the team went 9-4 overall.
Yeah I’ve been thinking about that Portland State loss since our game went final today. That’s what we have to hope our season mirrors.

The difference though, is that Leach was a proven head coach and Pruitt has served up shitsandwiches for every game of his head coaching career except 2.

Just like the fans. Going to be in house next week and not at Neyland.

Sad but know it’s coming
I called my roommate/best friend after the game and said I’ll be damned if I spend money to travel to knox for a game this year. He said he more than agreed

Not to be disagreeable, but does he know as much as we think? He had the king of defenses in his ear when needed for a lot of his success. He had superior athletes at FSU and UGA to work with. Look at his D's from the end of last season into this game. Mizzou is one thing, their O scheme is strong. But when you get out schemed on D by a Vandy O and now a Georgia State O - big red warning flags are flapping.

Add in the technique issues of the front 7 on D. None of them could shed blocks. They stayed engaged and just shoved the blocker until the ball carrier was beside or past them, then reach out and try to arm tackle. His D was base nickel much of the game. That's sad to me because I watched both Marietta and St. Joe's HS D's run more sophisticated schemes with run and pass blitzes last night. Are they that dumb as players or are the coaches that demanding of perfection that they over control?

Don't know, don't care. They lost to Georgia State. Pathetic.

The videos from last year were pretty clear that he understood what was coming in certain games. I was disappointed as well with the effort last year in the last 2 games.

I’m as pissed as everyone else, but coach’s don’t just become dumb. The offense didn’t help matters. Don’t turn the call over and score TD’s instead of FG’s, and we win the game.

I really think there's less of a gap between G5 and P5 teams than ever. Even FCS and P5 to some degree. It's getting more and more difficult for the non-elite programs to just roll over those teams. Coaches probably don't spend a ton of time gameplanning for them because they would rather use it to gameplan for more "important" games. And the players don't take those games as seriously either. Meanwhile, the lesser teams are fired up and treat it like their Super Bowl.

We're playing the rest of the season regardless. I have no choice but to pray this embarrassed the players and the coaches to the point they do better out of pure shame.

Of course I felt that would happen in the 2nd half... But still, no other choice.

Everybody looked more shell-shocked than shamed. Need more team leadership.
