I'm scared because a loss will be soul crushing for the program. All eyes on Knox, a lot of huge recruits coming in. This game means a lot.
Biggest game in Heupel's career thus far, and this is not exaggerated, a chance for us to finally get over the hump in this series both literally and psychologically. With a decisive win tomorrow we can get this monkey off of our backs. I don't believe Napier is the guy for them, and so they are going to continue wallowing in mediocrity imo. This is our chance to put them behind us for the foreseeable future.I'm scared because a loss will be soul crushing for the program. All eyes on Knox, a lot of huge recruits coming in. Both Franklin and Elliott received considerable offers that neither immediately turned down. Elliott was that close to accepting until Dabo made a last minute pitch. I do believe that the potential sanctions and the vast roster turnover weighed most in their decisions. IMO White gave those efforts all due diligence because he knew the immediate fallout with going for his preferred, vetted “safe hire”.I was listening to Kesling today on the radio...
I know it was said that we went after James Franklin...Tony Elliott's name was thrown out there...however, Danny White always said that Heupel was the only person offered the job. I believe it was his job all along. I believe White knew/knows Heupel was/is the perfect fit for us, especially at the time he was hired.
Back to Kesling, and to tie it into the coaching search...Heupel was/is the perfect hire for the UT job. We needed someone cool and calm to settle everything down, take things in stride, and deal with the raging fire they were walking into. Heupel was/is perfect for that. Kesling said he has never met anyone so laid back, cool, calm, doesnt get ruffled in the least; also, someone who spends their time perfectly. Kesling says Heupel is amazing as it pertains to time...said if Heupel gives you a time he'll be somewhere or doing something, you can bet the house it's right on the time he said. He also said that Heupel does not worry about things out of his control...said he never once has sweated the investigation, because it's out of his control. Kesling said Heupel is so even keeled, that he realizes football is never going to be perfect, and if something goes wrong he NEVER gets thrown off his game...he said the kids gravitate to him and buy in so easily because Heupel is so easy.
Just a glimpse of some of the things Kesling was saying about Heupel. Putting that together, with the genius that is Danny White...again, I believe Heupel was the pick all along, the absolute right pick...of course White knew all these things about him. We needed someone like him...someone steady, relaxed, grounded, consistent, calming, cool, and smart as hell.
How do you know that, b...for sure? Both Franklin and Elliott received considerable offers that neither immediately turned down. There’s a reason he’s revered on here. Excellent poster and overall champion guy. He has his requisite Doyle Hargraves cycles. I just turn the radio down a little til he gets aight again. So here I am still on Wednesdays' posts, who would have thought I would be giving strong consideration to putting Bass on ignore for being negative.
Unbelievable how negative!!
Everybody always talks about Buffalo Trace, Weller, Blanton's, and Pappy. Brown Forman's lineup including all the Woodford's and the Old Forester whiskey row series are the best product lines from one mash bill in my opinion. Only reason they aren't more popular is they are always in stock and lack the mystique of the allocated stuff. One of the best!
I like Small, and I think he is a good solid RB...but I think that outside of holding onto the ball (which admittedly is a huge deal) that Wright is the bigger threat to opposing defenses. Both Tillman and Miller are going to try and play. Both won’t play past Q1.
As for Small: I don’t think he was hurt that badly against Akron and coaches just held him out.
He will be the bell cow.
Not what he's doing overall, but this season it will defalte things some.I don’t think a loss would derail what Heupel is doing though. It would be a big disappointment but it’s not the worst. I think we might be a little overrated at #11 or #12 right now but we can’t do anything about that other than continue to play hard.
Yup. It's OK to be nervous, winning this is honestly skipping a step or two on the path back. A win tomorrow and 9-3 is the floor, and it makes the Sugar bowl talk real.Biggest game in Heupel's career thus far, and this is not exaggerated, a chance for us to finally get over the hump in this series both literally and psychologically. and further, the impact on recruits is monumental. This can compel us to finalizing a top 10 class and really setting us up for a top 5-7 class in 24. It's huge man, can't be understated.
We have to win. There's no reason we shouldn't. We have every advantage in this game. The only reason it's not an assumed win is because of the history with fl
So we’re “overrated” with Kentucky and Oklahoma State currently ahead of us? Think NC State, Utah, Oregon, Florida, BYU and Pitt are UNDERrated behind us?I don’t think a loss would derail what Heupel is doing though. It would be a big disappointment but it’s not the worst.
