Choose your hypothetical:

1. Beat UGA but lose to Bama in the regular season and SEC championship game.
2. Beat Bama, lose to UGA and no SEC East title
2. And I'm not even sorry about it. Buck Fama.

Winning that game at home.... With that crowd... The recruits...I think winning that game would do more for our program than just going to ATL.

Repeated concussions ain't a good thing for the brain mass.
This is truth. My wife raced 4 wheelers semi professionally in her 20's, went to all the local and regional events, was ranked in the top 4.

She has issues often, I can tell when they are coming because she starts talking funny, using odd words. Then her eyes start flickering and she has to go lay down for a few hours. Feels like a freight train hit her.

I've had a couple but nothing like hers.

Tua injury is terrible but made me think back to a meeting I had a few years ago with a really cool company that has a DOD research contract that's trying to create a product to help prevent concussions by triggering the brains natural protective mechanisms. Basically, they realized that concussions ALMOST never happen when two players expecting contact hit each other, regardless of force. Almost all concussions are players that aren't expecting to get hit, so they surmised that when a person is expecting contact, the body naturally protects the brain. What they found is that in the microseconds before a hit, your brain will cut off blood flow out of the brain stem, which holds excess blood in the brain creating more pressure and basically holds the brain in place so that it doesn't slam into the skull, which is what causes the brain injury. So they're working on a shirt containing sensors that would then trigger that natural reaction proactively when a person isn't expecting to experience contact. They're primarily building it for service members in combat zones to protect their brains when facing IEDs and other explosions, but they also think it could transform how we protect football players and other contact sport athletes.

TLDR: Those predicting that football might not exist in a few years because of brain injuries might be wrong because of the amazing innovation produced by good ole free market capitalism.

Tennessee crushed it last weekend with the 2024 and 2025 recruits in town. The in-state kids continue to feel the good vibes on Rocky Top. It’s hard not to like the Vols’ chances with many of the in-state 24s and 25s at the moment.
As for the healing, there’s some hope that Cedric Tillman might be available for LSU, but that’s going to be an end of week, game time deal. Tillman, who didn’t practice last week, is not 100% and obviously didn’t practice during the bye week.
Warren Burrell has been seen in a big sling this week by people around town. It certainly doesn’t appear like he’s going to be available in Baton Rouge.
Dylan Sampson and Dee Williams are both working and rehabbing trying to get ready for LSU. Both went through warm ups Saturday for Florida and there’s optimism they might be available in Baton Rouge, but again that will be a late week decision and as we know Josh Heupel is never going to discuss injuries to his football team in any detail.
