Really loved the redemption arc of the Jeremy Banks story the past 2 years. He just threw that all away. Disappointing.

I did too. I was always on the side of giving him a second chance and excited at what he could turn out to be as a man. Sadly, some people never get over past cancers and sins. Those that refuse to grow are the ones you must leave behind as you move forward. This is especially important as a team.

What could have been if this team had cohesion in the locker room? Do we lose against SC?

I’ve got to admit games like this one makes me think I need to back away from being so bought in with our team.

I was visibly sick this morning, haven’t eaten a thing yet. I know that’s crazy but how do you go from beating Bama and LSU to losing to Shane Beamer. Losing to him is just more than I can stomach.

At this point I’m for real afraid we lose to Vandy! Not kidding..
Relax brother. Have a bite. Life is good. Thanksgiving meals are upon us. We've had an AMAZING season.

We'll whip Vandy silly.

Fwiw all of this makes me think of Buddha. His whole philosophy was that suffering came from attachment. False and fleeting attachment. It's great to love sports and enjoy it, but never get THAT attached when anything can happen. We were "only" 80% to beat both USCjr and Vandy. Have to understand 1 in 5 times you're going to be sorely disappointed. Might as well go ahead and understand that and realize your attachment to a projected 11-1 finish is not real.

Don't take the lows to low. Only one out of 131 teams will end up truly satisfied each season. Have to find joy in the other 130 scenarios.

I truly mean this:

Play Keyton over tillman
Play Wright and Sampson over Small

Our offense is worse when those two players play for some reason.
I made this comment last night and in the GA game. This offense was rolling with Bru , Hyatt & Keyton. When it was Tillman . the offense was out of whack it seemed. Hooker is always looking for Tillman on every pass almost while Hyatt is running open down field or a TE. He is locking in on Tillman and it was the same thing last night. I like Tillman and he is great but this offense is not clicking when he is out there. I think I seen on here or twitter that he was targeted 18 times. When he was not on the field Hyatt would go off for over 100 yds but when Tillman is out there its like Hyatt just disappears. Tillman just needs to get ready for the draft. Hate that he got injured but this offense is not the same when he is out there

Dear Sir,
Please do not bring logic into this conversation! BVS is real, even Buddha would agree.

Sadly I now wonder if the Jeremy Banks stuff has been present all season.

Last year he had 128 total tackles, 11.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 1 INT
This year he has 46 total tackles, 4.0 TFL, 0 sacks, 0 INT

And hadn't missed a game until last night...that's a big decline in production, screams lack of effort.
Yeah I’m ready for that thug to move on.

I understood perfectly. But you're missing the fact that you could've said this about a handful of other games too. Every other time we "had to win" we did. You're just choosing to focus on the time we didn't. And the only reason we even had ourselves in such a position...was BECAUSE we did win in all of those other critical games.

So when you make it out to be we simply blew it in our one must-win game, it simply isn't true. We failed in one of MANY such situations, the rest all a success.

I hate to say it this way, but your post is ignorant. Yes, we won close games this year. Yes, we have had a magical season with wins over some of our hated rivals. But what you seem to be missing is that we pissed away an opportunity that UT has not had in decades. We had a chance at the playoffs this year, a good chance. We only had to beat two bad teams. We blew it. Sadly, it taints everything we accomplished this year. Just like 2001, we will always look back on this season and think what could (should) have been.

That’s a pretty wild drop off. But why would anyone run on this defense anyway. I think teams figured that out and just threw it over him. We simply have to get some dudes at corner.

My hope is Jeremy Banks gets to play his last regular season game against Vandy and the D comes out with their hair on fire and shuts them down. We know we can get enough offense with Milton at QB to beat them if the D plays like it matters.

Last night happened. Learn from it and get better.

Seems like we recycle the “so-and-so stepped on the T and got decked” bit every couple years.
But only after a loss.

There always has to be some massive conspiracy as to why we got whipped...when we're #19 in talent...vs #20 in talent in their home at night. It's almost like...that's sports 🤔

No need to kid. It's a very real possibility. Vandy is playing well. They're at home going for bowl eligibility. It's going to be miserable weather. I don't see a way that this UT team will be able to put yesterday behind them so quickly/easily. Very, very probable that we have a huge hangover and Vandy would love nothing better than to get their pound of orange flesh. On top of that, we likely will be starting Milton. No, I see a very, very difficult week ahead for Heupel and co. And if we do drop the Vandy game, I would almost put money on a bowl loss. From 9-1 to 9-4...well...that would be a bitter pill and I can't imagine the fallout with fans and recruits. Vandy is a huge game.

That game is exactly why we need a stud RB. When the passing is not clicking we don’t have to Backs to take over the game.
Our CB and safety’s played like real crap and our d line probably had its worst game too. Something was off all night.
BUT I’m so proud of this season and guys. Hell of a year

My thing is how do you go from leading the SEC in tackles and potentially being drafted. To return (on his own) and then decide to basically half ass effort all season?

If you thought returning for NIL money was the play then you're an idiot. The only folks getting big NIL deals are high level QBs, that's everywhere too. The goal should be the NFL, cause if you stop at NIL or refuse to play until you get "paid" via NIL then you're missing the big picture...NIL is pretty much chump change compared to what even a rookie deal for the NFL would be if you get drafted.

Disagree. You take responsibility by cutting him from the team. These guys asked for it and now they are seeing what the real world is like. As a leader, you empower people that do the job and cut those that don’t.
Maybe what you and I watched was a different game. I didn’t see a few guys not knowing what to do or being slow to react, I saw 20.
