The real issue is the conferences are not even but they are treated evenly.

The simple strength of schedule difference in the SEC is enough to prove that wins and losses are not equal just because of numbers.
I've been saying that over and over in one way or another. TCU is a 10-2 to 8-4 team in the SEC.

Well it would bump LSU up so they and Bama would get orange and sugar. I don't see, necessarily, that USC would be ranked ahead of us after that loss, so I still think cotton would be in play for us.

But I don't think Georgia is losing so it's a moot point.
I can't fathom LSU jumping ahead. They'd have 3 losses and a monster beatdown by us.

But yeah I agree it's moot. LSU just had their soul ripped out of them. That said...the one thing about UGA is they tend to play down to teams they don't respect...do they they come in on fire or feel like they'll breeze by LSU? Given it's the SECCG I'd guess the former. THAT said...oddly a loss might be beneficial for uga because they'd likely end with TCU in a 2/3 matchup rather than face OSU in a 1v4.

And yet our genius commish wants to just keep making it tougher 🤢🤮🤢🤮

All for the almighty dollar.

So freakin stupid. No pro league would ever allow such monstrous conference imbalances. Thank god for the 12 team playoffs 😑

SEC champ goes to the sugar if not in playoff. Rankings don't matter

LSU wouldn't have to jump above us in the rankings. If they miraculously beat Georgia, they're SEC champions, which gets them an automatic bid to the Sugar Bowl.

You have to take care of business. That’s like saying Tennessee shouldn’t be penalized for a defense not showing up.
Our defense ain't great, but it is much better than theirs, and what you said is true...the defense never showed up for SC. I've studied it several times, and there were several guys that were not "engaged" in playing that day.

What's kind of funny....Citrus Bowl is in Orlando and on Jan. 2nd

So maybe not the "prestige" of the Orange Bowl, but at least based on location and when it's played that'd still be a better bowl than the Music City.

LSU would be in the Sugar Bowl though if they won, they take the SEC Champion, unless they are in the CFP.

LSU Win Means:
LSU to Sugar
Georgia (if outside top 4) to Orange
Bama to Cotton (most likely)

Even if GA stays in the top 4 it puts Bama in the Orange and we'd be back at hoping for the Cotton.

Would y'all please stop posting the "DAM you SCjr" posts? You know full well they are rushing back with screenshots to rejoice and bask in "ruining our season". Because you folks are telling them they ruined our season, and they didn't. At all.

The players that thought they could sleepwalk through a game ruined their chances at the playoff. But this team outperformed EVERY expectation we could have had before the season.

So, it's not a ruined season. And SCjr isn't a villain here. They are a nobody. They are an afterthought. They are a fanbase with such a sucking team that their only joys can come from playing spoiler to good teams.

Don't give them the satisfaction.

So, if you want to cuss at someone, you're cussing at the players.

How about, let's just say, "'Playoff would have been nice. Thanks for being better than we'd have imagined. Go Vols, can't wait for Jan 6! USC-who, times two?!"

That is all.

I mean, they kind of did. We'd be in the CFP if not for that loss.

In this scenario, couldn't they take UGA if they fall out of the playoffs? They were the reg season champ.
UGA isn't falling out of the playoff, even with a bad loss. Their ticket is punched. So the sugar bowl scenarios are as follows:
LSU by winning today
Bama by UGA winning today
Tennessee by Bama getting in the playoff
Or
Tennessee if the committee suddenly decides to rank us ahead of Bama.

All that said, I'm good with the orange bowl. There's just something really wrong with the sugar bowl kicking off before noon local time, before NYD. What is this a Jefferson pilot game?

"No thanks. I'm saving myself for marriages."

I think you’re right. Probably not a conversation for this late, but well. Maybe success happened too soon. We enjoyed it as fans watching, but those young men hadn’t. I’m sure they heard how long it’s been since we’ve experienced that as a program. That’s a lot for them to process.
I think several factors caused it...I posted the three main reasons the other day, but I have added one since then that I did not think about until another poster brought it up...and now I think it was a big factor in the general malaise..

South Carolina was the 7th game in a grueling 8 game stretch after our last bye. I think they needed a week off to reset after getting the shock of getting ripped by UGA and then obliterating Mizzou in an emotional response to that loss.

EVERYBODY...all of us thought SC was going to be a repeat of Mizzou. Consciously or not, so did the team...at least the defense thought they were going to have a easy game.
