Yep…. 3 girls out today but still pathetic…. Kellie Jolly’s teams use to play great defense but they can’t even do that any more.
You mean the team who today held VT about 24 points below their average? Even missing a key starter? You might want to use a different criticism.

Nice, GL to her and her squad.
Thanks…. They are doing pretty good…. Picked near the bottom of the conference but undefeated so far including upsetting a team that was suppose to be top 3 in the conference on the road…. My daughter has started most games at PG/wing but is injured with a cyst behind her knee so coach is limiting her time a little bit…. She did play 22 minutes today though.

They had been struggling with defense most of the season…. It wasn’t just about this one game. I want to Kellie Jolly to be successful but shouldn’t seem to be a very good coach/recruiter.

Each conference determines it differently though. UT was the second seeded team in the SEC if there aren’t divisions. There is no uniformity, and seeding and home field do matter in the playoffs. You should be rewarded for “winning more games,” especially in a tougher conference. Just because you win 1 game at the end of the year gets you a better seed? Doesn’t even happen in the NCAA basketball tournament. Teams should be rewarded for their body of work.

12-3-71

“This day in 1971, Tennessee took on No. 5 Penn State at Neyland Stadium in the first game between these football powerhouses. The Nittany Lions were undefeated coming to town. They had averaged 44 points per game and had twice scored in the 60s. The Vols were 8-2 and considered underdogs. No one really knew what to expect.
Tennessee had lost to Auburn and Alabama earlier in the season, leaving Vol fans wondering if the young men in orange were up to the task.
It was “Majors Family Day” for the home season finale, and the game was telecast nationwide on ABC. Bobby Majors, the last of three brothers to play at Tennessee, and the “Offensive Defense” put on quite a show. What the crowd of about 59,000 got was a surprise, a tribute to Tennessee and Tennessee tradition.
The final was 31-11. You read that one correctly. Vol defenders had never been better, stopping a Penn State offense featuring Franco Harris and Lydell Mitchell in its tracks. Conrad Graham scored on a 76-yard fumble return for a touchdown.”

I posted the on Friday that my son and his team were playing in the WV state championship game. Well, we **** the bed, and walked away with a tough loss.
Was a fun season, and good run for our team, and I'm glad my son, as a sophomore, got to be a part of it.
Asking for some prayers for healthy recovery. Unfortunately, he suffered what appears to be a plantarais muscle/tendon tear. Going to ortho tomm, and mri this week.
He came up gimpy in last weeks semi game with his leg hurting, we nursed and rehabbed it all week, was cleared to play, and then heard/felt a pop during the first qtr, and was done.

Not trying to change your mind, but a decent rationale is that they played and won one more game than others. That ought to be worth consideration. Allowing a higher ranked Bama to sit at home while they played doesn't really make sense either.
Which is why I think we should not have an extra conference championship game but go straight to the playoffs. That way no team is having an extra game while another sits home and rest. You’re not having the chance of two teams playing twice before the playoffs. The team that won the most games in their conference should be the champion from that conference.
