I had a dream…

Joe Milton has the greatest year ever as a Vol QB

Joe Milton is invited to New York

Joe Milton is announced as the winner of the Heisman trophy

Joe Milton walks up the stage and says “As a true VFL I refuse to acknowledge this award” and walks off

Joe Milton will be our hero

I’m petty, and that’s my dream

Just doxxed @Weezer

I get that & I know you’re contributing but you’ve been around long enough to know what happens when you make a statement like that.

At least drop a good hint.
This commitment just proves to me our staff knows what it is doing and they are ahead of the game versus a lot of other schools. I just thought I would share that our staff is having success.

Any idea when they will announce at least? Not trying to pick or anything just curious

Because of betting on baseball? Personally I feel we are all flawed, take away his gambling problems he still leads baseball in most hits. I also feel Bonds is a hot player. That being said we put to many players in the hall of fame , it should be for the best players of their time
Agreed on the too many players make it. There's this feeling every year that they HAVE to put someone in. Some years, there's no one really deserving on the ballot. As a Braves fan, I loved Fred McGriff as a player. But I'm not convinced he's a HoFer. He has good numbers, but are they Hall worthy numbers? I think it's okay to have some years where there are no inductees. But I guess they can't do without that yearly attention.

Also, I think Pete should be in.

“This award is not just for me. This award is for my brother Hendon Hooker. This is for former Vol greats who were snubbed. This is for the Sheriff, Peyton Manning. Go MF Vols!”

Milton’s throws the Heisman trophy and it smashes on the floor.

As a nice win for the Mets. Calculating out the return given a reasonable hurdle rate...inflation, the Mets won in reality. But it makes for fun headlines for those that don't consider the future value of money.

He easily could have been paid off the bat, invested it, and ended up with significantly more. The Mets treated it like a cheap annuity and got away with it. Like the powerball folks...if they gave you an even worse annual payout deal.

I know you are the accountant, but there are some nuances with the deal. The 5.9 million turned into 29.8 million, which was 8% over 24 years. He did lose 11 years to invest it if he had gotten it all upfront. But Bonilla’s career earnings were $46 million, so he will make more than half of that on this deal.

But the tax implications help Bonilla, too. He was in NY and would have paid a big tax bill if paid upfront. He now lives in Florida with no income tax and isn’t required to pay the athlete tax. Long term, it probably worked out well for him.

Milton’s throws the Heisman trophy and it's incinerated upon reentry to Earth's orbit.
