Ah, yes. The South Carolina game. Where that gimmick Tennessee offense got shut down to the tune of 38 points. And then our second loss against inarguably the best defense in college football.

I’m just adding to the discussion, so this isn’t aimed at you Metal. But, these Pat Forde type jokers said the SAME thing last year about how with a full off-season to prepare our offense wouldn’t work. What happens next year if we put up Top 3 offensive numbers again? How many years before it’s no longer a gimmick and it just works?

These just feel like lazy takes. You could make an easy argument about how our defense has struggled two years in a row now and then question if Heupel will ever have a good defense and maybe that’s why he will fail, but instead they make brain dead arguments about our offense lol.

Isn’t that what they’ve said about Heupel’s offense since he was at Missouri? When exactly are these genius coaches supposed to figure it out?

Hartman doesn't play in the SEC. His stats wouldn't be that good if he did, and they aren't amazing now.

The point is that I doubt Hartman is any better than Joe, and Joe may not be our best QB by mid season.

He plays on a meh team, I'd argue his stats would be better on this team.

I will agree with the last part that Joe may not be our best by mid season.
