Old Dominion pulled it off. VT fans were worried about this one.

They attribute the recent successes of Old Dominion, James Madison, Liberty, and UVA to Fuente. Lots of talented in-state athletes that Fuente wouldn't recruit because they didn't have stars by their name. So rather than scouting and evaluating the in-state athletes that wanted to play in Blacksburg they've gone to the other schools that often schedule VT. Old Dominion is very good with a roster full of guys with chips on their shoulders. VT is rebuilding. Game in Norfolk. Recipe for disaster.

Another defensive minded coach who may ruin his head coaching career by being too conservative on offense. Not everyone can recruit defense like Saban and Kirby. Even Nick eventually adapted on offense.
