They only alts I've really liked are the black and orange for Halloween. Players and fans fed off that. But for an on-brand look in a rivalry game on national TV, nothing beats a surge of orange and white following Smokey through the T into a stadium checkered with orange and white while the POTS plays and 100K roar at peak decibels.

It's the most iconic brand image in college sports-- tradition and history with modern touches. Nothing like it.

The Smokey greys could improve greatly if they would do away with orange socks. Who wears orange socks. And I’d be ok if we only saw them once every couple years.

All black has a lot of potential. Would rather see that 1x/yr.

UF is a "need to win" game for sure. It's a chance to make a statement and a hurdle that must be jumped to meet program goals for the season. A game doesn't impact anyone's job security, but a W checks a box that needs to be checked.

UT made a commitment to the entire staff, signed them to longer-term contracts and just extended them, as planned. This was structured at the outset to build a stable foundation and culture for the program. That said, UF is the first stepping stone toward beating our rivals and getting to the top of the division. If we want to be #2 in the SECE, we beat UF and UK. We give UGA a game. And we show recruits that we're legitimately on our way. We need this win, and we have the players, coaches, fans and venue to get it.

This. Save the alternate jersey for another game when the players need some extra juice (UK or Mizzu). Plenty of juice already for this game and with the CFB world watching, lets show off our most prominent branding (orange and white).
