Happens to more boxers people realize. Happened to Caleb Plant most recently. Broken bones in his fists in two fights recently, including his title loss. Just so happens he trains with Mayweather in Vegas.
iirc Ali started having problems with it in the last 5th of his career

Christy Mathewson better than both. Nobody said jack about him having a girl’s name! But for pure dominance at the prime of his career? Give me Sandy Koufax! Another girl first name…and a crooked arm. Couldn’t touch him!
Walter Johnson was still slinging it well into his 50s. Koufax was dominate and so was Christy. Can't go wrong with any of them

A few years back when Barry Zito was playing for the Nashville Sounds on a rehab before he retired I was setting behind home plate. I thought I had seen a real curve ball...........I can say now I have seen a REAL CURVE BALL. It looked like it broke three or four feet and he could throw it anywhere he wanted it to go. A real treat to see someone that good up close.

guess it was earlier than that. Wonder if it was why he rarely sat down on his punches. Wouldn't have mattered anyway, to be a puncher, he would have had to rework everything he did. He hated throwing body blows and there was no way anyone would be as good as he was in the 60s and 70s as a pure head-hunter

Definitely an old school dude
I always liked the Pirates years ago along with the Yankees.......I played for the Yankees.......the Goodlettsville Dixie Youth Yankees and I would read the box scores everyday and could tell you Batting Averages, ERA's, you name it and I doubt many kids today know what a box score is much less read one.

I believe I've heard the same as well. I knew some guys that trained in gyms for years, some fought professionally but never anything big. Many of their hands felt like stone, hard as a rock..... But they told me their knuckles were brittle and always hurt.

A yankee just like Glitch.....

How many DB's do we have now counting portal, returning and recruits ? I know some will say not enough but........ The coaches know what they want and need so I leave that to them.

I liked Doc Ellis, he said "You hit one of my teammates I'm killing one of yours." Baseball the old way, when a brush back pitch was in your ear.
Intimidators I enjoyed..... Goose, the mad hungarian and the one, the only Nolan Ryan. Always tuned in when those guys were on the bump.
