It could be because he's not really planning on signing here. Seems like we're a backup for whatever reason.

For anyone so naive as to buy Saban's and OSU's fake anti-NIL propaganda (with the help of media shills). The "foreign policy" idea, of course, is to encourage and to provide ammo to brain-dead idiot-margin types in OTHER fan bases to condemn the very idea of NIL at THOSE schools "on principle" (🙄), while growing THEIR OWN NILs as fast as they can.

Pretty clear this kid is playing us. Someone said he was reserving a spot. I agree. We're a fall back. Time we just move on and focus on the portal post spring ball and the 24 class. Hell, he dumped candy and went to kiffin. Now he's leaving kiffin and headed to yet another program. Tells me all I need to know about him.

He apparently chose Tennessee and got everything set up then decided he better make sure so went on visits to UCLA, OSU, and MI. The atmosphere at a basketball game was probably not as important to him as deciding where he wants to finish playing football, or being able to be recruited in far away places one more time.

Or he thinks taking the visits will get him more NIL $ to come here...treating it like UFA basically. This is for sure the negative side of NIL at work.

This is an attention whore that we don’t need. Let him go to Michigan and play half dressed in the snow. He won’t make it a year before he’s back in the portal.

I’ve not seen any evidence of us playing the highest bidder game yet. But he may well be telling other teams what we’re offering to see how high they will go.

He seems to have had all 3 visits (UCLA, OSU, Mich) already planned when he was here. He is in a rush and what he is doing is consistent with seeking a bidding war. The staff has to make a prudent judgement about both spending and the culture. And, as I said yesterday or the day before, OSU imo wants him to slow us down, in addition to gaining a CB. We have to count on our staff, who have talked with him in person and have some idea of "who" he is or would be as a teammate and influence. We'll see. If he is going to negotiate past the spring practice deadline (upon us) we would likely wait til after spring to look and when we would have a better idea of how the guys we have look. Not a fan of his histrionics. But if he had proceeded like this earlier instead of last minute perhaps it wouldn't seem as over the top.

He's sounding like the type of player Heup would take a pass on. Heup seems to be all about 'fit' and the team. Not sure this guy fits that model.

I'm not sure either. I think it is hard to know from our distance. I just added a final sentence to my post that you quote with respect to this.

We don't need to react emotionally. We have a great coach, staff, and Spyre, and I think they will make a good decision. Ultimately, it's Igbinosun's decision. This kind of thing (to some degree) seems to happen all the time in recruiting, if you think about it. Just not after the drop/add date!
