Standing in the presence of a living thing so old is humbling and uplifting. We saw a Giant Sequoia in Calaveras Big Trees California State Park that is estimated to be 2700 years old.

I want to visit the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest in the White Mountains next time we go out there....we drove close by through Bishop the last trip but didn't have time to go up there.
I love this stuff...

I am lucky to have spent some time with this man during my business career. He was a great guy and I could listen to him telling stories about his dad for hours! He was on the UT team when the General was coach. He said his dad wouldn't let him play much because he didn't want to be accused of favoritism. RIP Bob.

Did the murderer get released and let back on the team?

Police also testified that the vehicles of Miller and Bradley were allegedly blocking the road where the Jeep was parked. So many questions remain. The status of Miller and Bradley as members of Alabama’s basketball team should be the easiest one of them all to answer.

-Bring a loaded gun to your intoxicated friend in a crowded public place.
-Block the victim's exit with your car.

All three of those goons should be hit with murder charges and it should be an open and shut case for all three. Possibly four.

The Bama basketball team killed a woman as a team building exercise no matter how much Nate Oats and the Tuscaloosa DA's office want to happy talk around that fact.

I just think our confidence erodes with every loss. Every time we lose it's more difficult to get back on track. We need something to turn it around. Preferably a road win but that's a big ask at Auburn.
Need it to start this Saturday at home. If I see JJJ and Phillips day to day again on Friday for the 4th game in a row then I'm going to assume they're out the rest of the season

OMG...no...on the border of Cali and Nevada just east of Bishop. Did you really not know that Bristlecone Pines are endemic to really high elevations on mountain peaks out in the west?
did not know.

Honestly, my ability to identify anything outside of say, Eastern White, Black, Red, Longleaf, or a common Pine type here in WNC/NETN is scarce.

Recall taking a app into woods around Linville Gorge one fall afternoon. Never imagined the variety of pine trees in such a small concentrated area. There were at minimum 20 diff types of Pine in that one-two mile area.

Some originated in LA, some in Canada. Amazing, either humans brought them there and they spread, or, a bird shat them there.

Here's a good one: Taken from interwebs.

@Jackcrevol told a good Dad joke.

All he got was a Pine groan.

Lack of elite guards is a glaring need.. missing out of Cason Wallace, Yuri Collins, Tyrese Hunter & Nigel Pack (idk how realistic the last two really were) stings. Wallace would have fit perfectly in this system.

Hopefully we hit the portal harder this time around. Need Phillips to come back and Freddie to be as good or better than advertised. I think we have the athletes, but they’re young

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered before making any definitive statement on this situation.

I'm in Huntsville pretty regularly and it's already happening

The home prices are starting to catch up with Nashville area as well.
Yeah there are new automotive plants moving to the area to escape regulations elsewhere, and Redstone Arsenal is selected for US Space Command HQ and a major center for the FBI. I live in Fayetteville and the number of cookie cutter neighborhoods going up on old farmlands is insane. Used to be cotton fields for 20 miles now its all houses with 8ft between them

There's only a handful of native or common pines in that area. Those apps aren't always accurate though. There won't be a longleaf pine there because they can't survive the climate. Red pine and black pine are not native to the area either. Black pine is from Japan.

What it's probably mixing up are the native Virginia pine, pitch pine, shortleaf pine, Eastern white pine, and the commonly planted loblolly pine. Those are the only common pines in that area. There's also table mountain pine at the highest elevations in the Appalachians but they're exceedingly rare. Their cones need fire to open and release seeds, and we've pretty much eradicated fire from that landscape.

There's also several firs, spruces, junipers, and a hemlock that are native or planted.

Rock IT City initiatives/vibes are attracting a ton of young professionals that don't want to pay what it costs to move to the "hot millennial markets!!!" of the last decade or so.

There was a bad fire back in 2019.

Wildfire rages deep inside NC’s Linville Gorge. Cause is found at abandoned campsite

Going back and looking at history of that walk. Virginia, Slash, Scots, EW, Red, Sand, Shortleaf, and a black. (it was in a gated community).

So my recollecrion of 20 was just a bit outside. Now that I go back and look, i was confusing many of the pines with the sheer amount of Quercus and Acers'.
