I’m not a conspiracy theory guy, but the line judge in our Alabama game who went to Hoover High School a few years ago and the Anthony Jordan fiasco in basketball are both hard proof that bias exists within the conference.

It all leads back to Birmingham, and they don’t even try to hide it. Heck, at one time, Steve Shaw was the head of football officials, and the head of basketball officials resided in Lexington, KY.

With the amount of money involved, all of these things should be vetted and reviewed. But they aren’t until a scandal occurs. The SEC also got what they deserved in our UT-OM game 2 years ago. Fans should never throw stuff on the field, but if the conference had been proactive, incompetence would have never officiated the game. But then again, it got OM to a NY6 bowl.

Make what you will of the call in the super bowl but the game before that in the AFC championship, the Chiefs were clearly the team they wanted to win. I've never seen something so blatant. Their super bowl this year is a sham.

I came into this season thinking we'd be a guard-dependent team, sinilar to last season where our 2 best (based on PER) players were Chandler and Santi.

This year our 3 highest PERs come from down low - Awaka, Uros, and Aidoo.

I get it may be too late to drastically shift our strategy, but it seems lowering low-rate 3 pt shooting for downlow plays would be +EV.

Oh and Uros is shooting 66% this season 👀 If you can get him to also be a willing passer, he could be a big part down the stretch if we decide to make it a part.

I didn’t get to witness it and am trying to find video…. My son was sitting in the stands waiting on his next tournament basketball game to start…. A foul was called in a mighty mites game( 5-6 yr olds)…. A fan came out of the stands yelling at the ref…. The ref kicked him out…. The fan got in the refs face daring him to hit him…. One of the coaches came running and started punching the fan…. Fans came out of the stands and jumped the coach…. Pretty soon…. The majority were going at it and all the kids were rushed to the locker room… one grandfather was protecting a kid got hit and his dentures went flying across the court. This fight lasted more than 20 minutes and involved 10-15 cop cars showing up…. To make it worse it was the same team fighting each other… it was the Shelby panthers A and B team playing each other…. In these 5 yr old games….. they don’t even call traveling bc the kids can barely dribble… Absolutely ridiculous behavior!!!

My kind of crowd. Who wants to sit at game with parents looking at their phones.

Be aggressive!

Lost in all this is the likelihood that Miller had the gun on campus….whether in the dorm or his vehicle. That would have gotten any non-athlete suspended or expelled from school. Aside from all the other facts of this fiasco, Alabama leadership should have a lot of explaining to do. It’s a microcosm, but their win at all cost attitude is exactly why this country is in the shape that it is in.

A bit more from the advanced stats:

BPM (A box score estimate of the points per 100 possessions a player contributed above a league-average player, translated to an average team)

Based on BPM, our starting 5 would be:

Vescovi
ZZ
JJJ
Mashack
Aidoo

With a very close race off the bench among:
Olivier
Phillips
Uros

with Tobe trailing a bit. Key is way far down.

Biggest takeaway imo:

Key is easily the lowest by both PER and BPM but has played the 4th most minutes this season. Not that he has a negative overall impact, but relative to others ahead of him, he does. Granted we need him to give SV/ZZ breathers, but outside of that it seems his minutes should be very limited.

Might even consider Mashack playing more at 2 with either Santi or ZZ opposite and with JJJ also in for a go-to guy.

If someone came out and exposed it, people like you wouldn't believe it.

It amazes me how trusting people are. Our whole society is one big pile of corruption. From the very heights of our government (not a political statement, rep, dem, ind, all bought and paid for). Our financial system (insider trading). If there's huge money involved, there will be corruption. People trust the SEC as an unbiased organization that treats their members equally yet time and time again we see different levels of enforcement handed down. We've witnessed a completely orchestrated east and west division of teams, one strong team from each division that don't play each other in order to make it likely 2 teams from the same conference get in the cfp. Perhaps your one to believe that Alabama and Georgia have been totally within the rules.when it comes to recruiting? You'd be one of the few. Even the media burst out in laughter when Saban made the claim they don't pay players. All these years, never an investigation. You have Will Wade on tape admitting purchasing recruits and he coached for what, 2-3 more years, only being fired when he quit winning. And here we have Tony V serving a suspension because he made a phone call too early and a player sitting as well. There is extreme bias in the SEC and the NCAA, you just have to open your eyes to see it.

All it takes is one phone call to the person who manages officials and make a totally innocuous comment about how it would be nice if team A beat team B.

I'm extremely cynical about anything and everything where huge sums of money are involved. After the last 3 years I don't trust anything.
Well way to avoid the entire question of how it all works 😂

If there was a text message or proof, I'd 100% be ready to rage. But so far, you and others have zero evidence, so it's moot. Like the wacky UK fans with an entire website to "prove" all SEC refs are against them 😅

And I don't discount the possibilty of tangential, random tampering here and there, all systems by people are vulnerable to such and always will be. But this whole mass conspiracy from the top to bottom...well extraordinary claims require...well...at least SOME proof.

But you'd rather talk in circles and throw out fallacies than get into the actual evidence, since you have none. Have to avoid actuality, otherwise you know there'd be nothing to discuss. Might as well be disproving the teapot that circles mars.

If we made a concerted effort to feed the post, it would change our offense. Instead of passing it around the perimeter for most of the possession, we could add a little inside out action. We fed ON against Texas and it worked. It makes the defense crash inside to help, opening up shots outside. If they don’t help, our bigs need to capitalize.

I wasn't at the game to witness, but my sons went to middle school championship game last night, and one of the dads was escorted out by cops. I haven't got full details, but the guy they kicked out is a total dbag that thinks very high of hisself. Would have been hilarious to see.

LOL, I didn't avoid anything. I get you are naïve in regards to these things but do you seriously believe they'd texting instructions? I set up an easy scenario of a "Conversation" of two people. Is that so unbelievable to you? HaHa. We've got evidence of wrong doings in our federal government but zero investigations or at the most sham investigations.
