Does anyone have a link to the Gameday segment where Bilas and friends trashed the refs and UT’s style of play?
No I had it recorded surprisingly. Guess it records bball gameday automatically since football gameday is set to record. Might check yer dvr

The people taking the Sweet 16 for granted will accuse Barnes and the team of looking ahead if we lose on Thursday.
100%. They are ready to act like a 3 loss FAU team is a "cinderella" when really they're closer to a 6/7 seed. And a 9 seed isn't a cinderella anyway...

You are correct. Just saw -5.5.

I believe that line will move. I think that makes people bet the P5 favorite. -8 to -10 makes you think.
Just not sure if we can score enough to move the line that high. They average 79 a game. Granted 67 and 76 for a 2 game average of 71.5 vs SEC teams.

I just don't trust us to get past the mid 60s. We'll need to hold them well below their season average...and we can do that imo but idk about the low 50s...will be some luck/variance either way it goes. They could hit too many 3s or our #1 perimeter defense matches up with them not making any tough shots either.

I just hope the regular season was enough to prepare our team.

We played a total of 12 NCAA Tournament teams. FAU played 0.

The value of playing a tough schedule is huge. They have experienced adversity and know what it takes. It not only makes the players more creative, it makes the coaching staff the same way. It was the Pat Summitt way. It is the Tom Izzo way that so many keep complimenting.

What were they seeing that I wasn't? I mean the Pelvic play just an extended arm attempt to boxout. What else?
I don't know. You can watch the game a 100 times and not see what some people are saying. I can't believe the refs could miss such extreme fouls. They're acting like half our team should've been ejected for the way we played.

So as of now...

1. Ray Mears, 278-112 in 15 years and a 71.3%, 3 regular season titles and 3 NCAA appearances (they didn't expand the field until to 64 teams until 1985 or he'd have a ton more) never had a losing season.

2. Rick Barnes, 175-91 in 8 years and a 65.8%, 1 regular season title, 1 SECT title, and 5 NCAA appearances (two sweet sixteens) has had an AP top 10 team in 4 seasons and won 25 or more games in 4 seasons.

3. Bruce Pearl, 145-61 in 6 years and a 70.1%, 1 regular season title, 6 NCAA appearances, 2 sweet 16s and the program's only elite eight. Only finished with 25 or more wins in 2 seasons though and 4 of his 6 years at UT he didn't have to face a very good Kentucky team

4. Don DeVoe, 204-137 in 11 years and a 59.8%, 1 regular season title and 1 SECT title and 6 NCAA appearances. Only had 2 top 10 teams in his time here and despite inheriting a program built by Mears never won more than 22 games in a season

If Barnes reaches the Elite Eight I think he's got a strong claim to be the best UT coach...a Final Four and I feel like it's no longer a debate. I get that Mears built something special here, but 2 of his 3 regular season titles were shared and he didn't win a single NCAA tournament game despite playing 4

Earlier in the year…. We were shutting down other teams three point shooting… we started losing when we stopped defending the arc as well… move them off the arc and we will win going away.

UT uses its physicality and defense against lowly Louisiana: Talking heads praised their defense and how good it was.

UT uses its physicality and defense against golden child Duke: Talking heads call them dirty, overly physical, playing football instead of basketball, and the refs let it get out of control.

Funny how the scripts flip after all of the talking heads picked Duke to make a deep run and then UT knocked them right off their pedal stool.

Great analysis….the only question I would have is how many teams made the tournament when Mears coached? It was far less than 64 in most years.

It’s definitely hard to quantify it… Mears won at a higher %….. had at least 6+ other seasons that would have him easily in the tourney today… They also only allowed 23-25 teams in the tourney when he was coaching… I would probably have Mears as the best since he pretty much built that program and has a higher winning %… Barnes would over take him with a final four though.
