That's a big IF, but I've seen nothing to doubt this staff's ability to live up to such wild hope. The opposite, really.
This time last year it was "woe is the OL...big weakness" and by midseason we were puking while running over Tigers and Elephants in violent manner.
131 out of the 259 draft picks (49.4%) were rated 4-stars out of high school by at least one recruiting service. That might not seem impressive, but 4- and 5-star players make up just 9.4% of the scholarship player pool on an annual basis.
players who were rated 4- or 5-stars by at least one service, 247Sports was the best grade on 60, the middle grade on 36, and the worst grade on 32. Having the best grade on 47% of drafted prospects is the high watermark for any network in the last six years.
IIRC you are a fan of Bud Elliott. Well, anyway, he did an after draft analysis of 247, ESPN, and Rivals and how they performed as to their ratings of the guys who got drafted. He was writing for 247 and 247 in his review came out ahead but the thing that jumped out at me is he looked at which service had guys rated the highest, something I have been posting in this thread in the offseason for the past few years and have done that already this year for our OL, DL, and DBs. I'd read another article on the draft somewhere that pointed out the number of players that had been rated as a blue chip by one or more of the major services. I've been doing that because I think it says somebody outside our program thought pretty highly of the potential for some of our prospects.
Last year over the course of the summer and fall camp at least 12 of our guys were getting preseason recognition. I think that may be an indicator of some merit to reinforce expectations for a successful season. So similar to last year I'll be tracking the number of our guys that various publications are recognizing in the preseason for expected elite performance. Spraggins joins Milton as the first couple I've seen getting attention so far. I think we could have 6 or 7 draft prospects for this year but maybe more will get some preseason hype. jmo.

I look forward to the possibility of you doing an OL analysis.
Yep…. I have had three different instances with my kids when they were toddlers….Lost one at the mall… one at the beach…. We exited an elevator… realized my son didn’t get off and the door closed before we could stop it… He was riding back up the elevator…. Another time… we thought he snuck out of the house…. Called the police and was starting to search the neighborhood for him when we found him hiding in the back of a closet…. I’m very lucky nothing tragic happened with my kids.
My aunt raised one that fell out of a tree. It’s name was Poosie. She used it to teach her 7th and 8th graders how to write a descriptive paragraph. She talked about how soft and furry it was and how she could pet it. She had their attention. She was an excellent teacher.
I was really hoping they would keep Dobbs and actually give him a shot. With an offseason to learn their system and build a rapport with the players, I think he could have been as good as Tannehill has been recently, probably better. And at a cheaper cost.I'm just confused, if the Titans wanted ANOTHER project QB why not just keep Dobbs?
I love the Lions blue jerseys, even the blue throwbacks they usually wear on Thanksgiving. I want one, tooHenHook'a Lions jersey listed as 'Most Popular' of Lions jerseys. And for some bam damn reason is only available in white.
@DOCTORLOOMIS Know where a feller could buy a blue ern
"Fried tofu"?? You sound like a monster! This little feller came right up to us yesterday at an outdoor restaurant and ate fried tofu right out of my hand. I could feel his little mouth and nails. Such a cool experience if you're like me and never saw anything but terribly wary squirrels all your life running away from you.
This guy was so friendly and was running around playing tag with a toddler.
