You probably like the everybody gets a trophy mentality. I don’t see issue in saying a player hitting 175 thru the season is not good. Not to mention has an overthrow into the outfield and dropped a ball and didn’t even get to attempt to throw out another runner. It’s more than a bad game. It’s a weakness. I’m sure Cal is a great kid but he is not the level of player we need starting much less starting at catcher.

We’ve taken 2 and rumored to be the leader for a 3rd. The WV catcher, who had a great freshman year, quit in the fall at UT. The Austin Peay catcher transferred but unexpectedly took an undrafted free agent deal. The UK catcher (from TN) was rumored to be coming but went pro. That is a position where Tony has just been unlucky.

I agree….hard position to recruit as well.

It's baseball. Vols made a great turnaround and played their butts off to get here in the last EIGHT teams in the country. They may come back and win this but if they don't, been a successful season. None of these guys are ever gonna be as perfect as some of yall obviously were in your "careers".

Whatever you think. I don't have any problem with being critical of some players. But the ones who never post unless it's negative or "I told you so" crap get old in a hurry. I think they need to upgrade at catcher and I wish they would play more small ball. But to say TV is "stupid" or some move is "obvious" is ridiculous. You choose to be hyper-critical, fine. I choose to defend the players and coaches.

How in the world can negavols exist with respect to Tennessee baseball?

We are playing at the highest level arguably in program history these past four or five years. It’s all gravy. Just enjoy it - whatever happens today!
