most of us talk about what we'd do in that scenario.
then when rubber meets road, **** our pants.
while i may not agree with your choice. i believe you. and, honestly get it. dude is lucky to be alive. people have died for less.
I lived a really rough life for several years, but I am a completely different person on a lot of ways....but for better or worse I know exactly what I am capable of.
The guy was not a "friend", he was an acquaintance, he and his brother who was one of my best friends had come over to get a few different "feel good products"...me and my friend had gone to retrieve said products from a hiding spot when this happened.
I knew the guy was a leech and a womanizing scumbag that pursued and screwed everything he got his hands on, and I could tell he kinda had the hots for my ex-wife, but I did not think he would ever do what he did...as bad a person as I was, there is no way I would ever be that lecherous.
His brother did not interfere in the "fight", and hauled him off to the ER where they told the staff that he had fallen off of a house....obviously none of us wanted cops involved.
I told the guy that if I ever saw him again that I would end him, and that was the end of that. His brother remained my friend and apologized over and over...he was shocked that the idiot had done it and did not blame me. As far as I know they didn't have anything to do with each other after that.
If I known then what I know now, I would have sent her with him. We ended up divorced a few years later in early 98. She actually passed away in 2009 at 37 years old....life is weird.
