Nick Foles won a Super Bowl.

'nuff said.

So did 40 y/o Peyton Manning with way worse numbers than Tannehill. Foles 2017 stats are way better than Tannehill's in 2022 so I don't think that's a great comparison. So I guess if the Titans can field a defense like the 2015 Broncos with prime Von Miller et al. then sure, Tanne can win one.

> Bud Elliott said he's been following Joe Milton since he was probably 14 (both from Orlando) and has had the strongest arm he's ever seen.
> Patrick Brown said Bray is the only arm he's seen that's even close.
> Milton being here for 3 years is a huge plus. They know how to coach him completely. Have full offseason to tailor entire offense to what he does.
> Has shown he can be effective throwing over the middle. Intermediate range could become a bigger part of the gameplan for Milton-led Tennessee, as opposed to what they did with Hooker.
> Defense has to respect outside/top so much more with Milton, so middle of the field will be open.

> Bru, Squirrel, Thornton, Keyton mentioned as production by committee to replace what Tillman and Hyatt did last two years.
> Thornton will be moving around a lot pre-snap, he will be our mismatch guy.
> Squirrel worked at putting on more weight this offseason.

> Lot of credit to Tennessee staff for maximizing Darnell Wright potential last year.
> Mays and Spraggins are set at C and RG. Other three spots open for grabs. Mincey, Crawford, Campbell provide options at Tackle. Coaches think Mincey can play Right, Campbell on Left. Elarbee acknowledged as great developer, has good guys to work with.
> Campbell (transfer from Miami) was great before he tweaked his knee last year, trying to get back to high potential he showed last year. Campbell expected to be starting LT.
> Staff expecting a lot out of Mincey at RT.
> Where is spot on this team with the biggest gap between starters and backups? Offensive Line.
> Cooper Mays has to stay healthy. This offense depends on a smart, dependable, active Center. One of the MVPs of the team.
> Tackle is pretty set. Interior OL needs to stay healthy.

> Concerns around pass rush without having to blitz. Tim Banks emphasizing need to pressure more with 4-man rush, and improvement in zone defense.
> Need someone to rise up from Leo spot: Josephs, Pearce will be soph and showed promise. Herring came in and put on 20 pounds in Jan so staff is excited about him.
> Tyler Baron time to show and prove.

> How will secondary improve? McCollough has to be better, can get in position but has to work on finishing plays. Wesley Walker will replace Flowers.
> Staff excited about freshmen corners coming in. BYU transfer CB shows some promise. Will need the older players to show maturity and consistency - Hadden, Slaughter - it's now or never for them.
> Bud thinks first 4 games will provide opportunities for young players that we need to step up - UVA, UTM, Florida, UTSA. Thinks we will comfortably outscore all of them, so let the young guys get some exp.

We’ll see! Tennessee should shut down Virginia. No more than 10 points allowed IMO.
as big of a defensive year in mid state as the 25 cucle will be. They need to show out.

I dont recall seeing this good a class,'on paper, since the DL from Chatt, Bolden & Riggs' class.

Tennessee's stock is the highest its been during the preseason since 2016 following a nine-win season. The Vols just won 11 games for only the second time this century and have a coach picking up steam nationally as one of the game's brightest up-and-comers. Josh Heupel's squad will have to navigate through a gauntlet once again and do so without several of their stars. Tennessee replaces 78% of its offensive production from a season ago, one of the highest marks in the Power Five. That doesn't affect where we've slotted the Vols in the SEC preseason power rankings, however. Quarterback Joe Milton is an elite talent and this is the only team in the conference expected to start 10 seniors on defense.

Still enjoying being near the top of these lists, as opposed to the bottom half ranking we carried from 2010-2021

Hope we dont overlook Florida

It worries me how much everyone is downgrading them expectation-wise. I don’t see them being the second worst team in the sec. They still have a ton of talent. Maybe they end up in the 8-10 out of 14 range but 2nd to last seems highly unlikely to me, even with their bear of a schedule. I imagine against us they will try to disrupt the offense and lean on their run game to slow the game down. If we can break it open a couple times for tds in the first half, I feel good. Either way I think we win, but I don’t want less than a 3 score game going into the fourth quarter in the swamp or I will be quite nervous.

When we bought my car, it had 80k on it. First time I had ever owned a car with less than 100k miles on it. Now almost 120k miles later, I am about to go over 200k and the car is still running great. My middle daughter turns 16 in December and will be wanting a car at some point. Hoping the Volvo can hang on for a little while longer. Dang kids is spensives.

2000 Toyota minivan with over 260k miles and 2011 Subaru Outback with over 250k miles. My 1989 Thundebird SC only has 112k though :)

Milton already guaranteed the game will be circled by both teams:

I wouldn't be surprised if the Florida players and/or Napier get asked about it this week. They might have a guy fire back, Joe gets the last word at the end of the week to pour more gas on.

they need to place their worry on Utah first. That won’t be pretty out in SLC.

Bum Ass? Hardly.
Not the greatest, but not a bum.

That tweet is from two years ago. Now do the last 24 from today...

Dude is old, washed. Doesn't have the weapons he had when he was putting up those numbers and damn sure doesn't have the Oline.

It's tough. We can probably win the poverty AFCS with Tannehill. But we don't have the roster to compete for a Superbowl. I'd really like to see them roll with one of the young QBs and just see what we have. Malik looked terrible last year, but he has supposedly improved. Levis looked terrible last year, but everyone seems to see something there I don't see. Screw it... Put them out there.

Thursday night kickoff at Utah is not the way I would want to start the season with a new QB and some other things to figure out.

That place is a madhouse. The whole place has a chip on its shoulder - coach, players, fans. They'll all show up with something to prove.

How many games do you have on the whistle?
As a ref? Zilch.

Analyzing refs - about 30 games that season.

I have zero doubt it is difficult… in fact it’s an impossible task. Like much of refereeing, we humans just aren’t built to perceive everything with that level of detail. Fine for kids sports, but college and pro should ensure better results through, what is now, basic technology imo. Leave the refs up to the conceptual decisions, not the visual precision ones.

1. Will Levis is still Will Levis and he's nowhere near a starter level QB in the NFL
2. I think Willis has more potential than Levis IMO but he was at the bottom of the barrel in QB production in the last 20 years at the QB position. Improving still puts him in the bottom 1/4 of that timespan and nowhere near ready to start.

If you want a chance at winning you keep Tannehill. he has a 89-33 TD-int ratio. Neither Willis or Levis listed is producing anywhere near a 22-8 ratio this excludes Tannehill's 20 rushing TD's the last 4 years. Tannehill is a high mid-level QB that will win games.

You hate to see it.

I didn’t know it was from 2 yrs ago…. If it is, my bad.

Still say you can win with RT….just gotta have the right pieces.

This will be the last opportunity for him in Nashville……
