“Oh damn! SmokinBob is my girl’s mom??!!” @VolunteerVandiver right now probably.

Sorry @SmokinBob - not intending to make light of your frustrations here, but I did chuckle at the two posts together. Agreed with @drvenner on this one.
Dated a 35 year-old masseuse right out of high school. My mom was irate. Woman was gorgeous. Everytime we'd go out to eat though, the server would hand her the bill... Didn't work out

From FF, regarding Mays and the OL:

I’m not comfortable giving out specific details of an individual’s private life, including their health. I’ll just say his issue is tricky. They’re hopeful that the procedure will allow him to exert himself completely in a few weeks. If not, it will be because the procedure was not able to completely address the issue. In that case, he’d have to have a more complex surgery with a longer recovery time. Just to say it again, I’m rooting for him to be back soon, healthy. Great kid. Great player. In the last two weeks, the interior of the line has been steadily improving. They’ll get a big test from a mature and athletic Virginia D line. That’ll be a good indication of how we’ll be without him.

😁 It makes me chuckle at how big a deal freakin uniforms are to these young'uns....it is silly how excited they get over it.

I'm not saying it's not cool...I would like them too, but I wouldn't be joygasming over it like these dudes were...and it is like that everywhere.
It is funny........I remember when we got solid Red pants and shorts for one of our golf uniforms. We went nuts also. (1990)

Did the server ever ask"What can I get for your son"......

Their fund is good for about 11 weeks, $500/week a person, but that doesn't include COBRA/health insurance. So maybe more like 7-8(?) We'll find out I'm afraid. And it could touch many suppliers...suppliers of suppliers...etc through the supply chain.
I really hope this stuff doesn't start to domino...it feels like we have been teetering on the verge of disaster for a long time now.

August 26, 1939

On August 26, 1939, the first televised Major League baseball game is broadcast on station W2XBS, the station that was to become WNBC-TV. Announcer Red Barber called the game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York.

The teams split the wins, with the Reds winning 5-2 for the first and the Dodgers winning 6-1 second. The broadcast was connected to the 1939 World's Fair, being held in New York. . At this time, TV was so new there were only about 400 television sets in the area. No regular programming existed yet.
