I only found out this evening that DirectV is having their usual money grab. I can’t watch tomorrow, unless I have Paramount plus. I do, but I can’t find the game. I have a hair appointment tomorrow at 11:30 and had the game recorded. HELP!
Disclaimer: I’m not the most tech savvy person and I don’t want to ask my brother for help and I’ll lose my crap on him while he’s laughing at me. This time of year is my Christmas.

Not 30 minutes away is Assawoman. They're all native words. Wachapreague (flounder capitol of the world), Chincoteague (Misty of Chincoteague wild pony), Assateague, Assawoman, Mattawoman, Kegotank, Machipongo, Metompkin, Onancock, Occahonnack, Nassawaddox... that's just a handful on the Virginia portion of the peninsula off the top of my head.

I'd recommend staying away from Assahole.

I love how he comes unhinged when talking about the Tennessee game. I hope he gets this clip played in front of him multiple tilled through out the season. No, I’m not automatically putting a W in our box for that one, I’m old enough to wait and see, but I’m more confident in a win at the swamp than I have in years. . Disney is a problem. Going woke on a lot of ish. Making new movies with actors from classic animated movies…and altering the storylines to fit agendas. People aren’t happy. Now in battles with Direct TV and Spectrum over broadcast fees. Everyone is in it for the $$$, but when two large cable companies balk at Disney’s demands, something is amiss. Guess Disney is trying to make up revenues via broadcast rights since many folks have shunned the company over its wokeness. Walt has to be turning over in has grave the way the company is being run presently. I would love to see the stock prices tank to a level where someone with half a brain came in and bought them out.

They’re pretty comparable from an offensive output standpoint. You can see that just from the counting stats.
And the oWAR & wRC+ metrics back that up.

(Just a fancy metric that measures how consistently you smoke the baseball, regardless of outcome) -

Acuna - .456
Betts - .418

Clear advantage to Acuna

I was more curious about the Defensive metrics. (These are for all innings played at ‘OF’)

Acuna has a -1.7 UZR and 0 DRS
Betts has a 1.4 UZR and 2 DRS

Mookie has been rangier, and converted more above avg opportunities.

WAR takes all of this (plus baserunning where Acuna has the edge) into consideration.
And Mookie has the overall edge there, though they might both put up 9 Win seasons.

All that said…

I think Ronald Acuna Jr is the more exciting player.
I think Acuna has the more compelling story this season.

If they both finish strong, and both teams clinch - I think Ronald Acuna Jr is the likely NL MVP.

Acuna's mediocre (relative to his other tools) defensive metrics are such a weird hole in his game. He apparently gets the world's worst jumps lol
