The issue with DirecTV is Nexstar is raising their rebroadcast fees for providers. DirecTV is not willing to pay the increase and has not agreed to a new contract. Nexstar has pulled their programming from DirecTV until a new contract is agreed on. I am not sure who the bad guys are, Nexstar for raising their rates or DirecTV for not budging on paying the increase. Either way WATE in Knoxville is owned by Nexstar, so Knoxville DirecTV customers have not had WATE available since the first of July and there is no end in sight. I use DirecTV streaming because it has some channels that other streaming services don’t have.

Now for the important part. You can watch WATE/ABC by downloading the ABC app, creating an account, and linking it to your DirecTV account. It is how I watch ABC programming and I am counting on this method to work for today’s game. The ABC app should work for anyone that has a cable, satellite, or streaming package that normally includes an ABC network.

What I do when I want to watch NFL out of market is VPN to Miami and watch live CBS feed on ParamountPlus. That’s only for CBS game of the week though. Not sure if ESPN would work? If not, yeah, check Sling or FuboTV or other streaming sites and see if they detect VPN or not.

Watch ESPN works via VPN…. Can confirm.

Chris"Bear"Fallica sighting on Big Ten Noon on Fox.... Actually these guys are better than College GameDay more in depth not just praising Ohio St. And Michigan like on GameDay....
