Same as late hit out of bounds on 4th down. The instant you step out of bounds or start your slide, the play is over and the ball is turned over. Otherwise the officials have to make a judgment call on how many seconds the play has to be over before they decide the foul isn't part of the play.I guess I never knew that. I get the call technically but it feels like a part of the play.
That is a total BVS Tennessee type of call.
You can certainly target someone after the play. Also unsportsmanlike penalties are always non contact fouls. If he would’ve ran like a man and not slid and then the Duke player targeted him they would’ve gotten the first down because the ball would’ve been live when the penalty occurred.Hm. Targeting happens during the play, i has the confuses. If he had stood up and then got leveled and drawn an unsportsmanlike, is that still a turnover? Because that makes sense. I dunno, what a weird situation, glad it screwed Clemson
I still can’t wrap my head around that call. Not arguing you, just bizarre. You can certainly target someone after the play. Also unsportsmanlike penalties are always non contact fouls. If he would’ve ran like a man and not slid and then the Duke player targeted him they would’ve gotten the first down because the ball would’ve been live when the penalty occurred.
I can’t even load the site. They’re broken
