I was thinking Marcus Dupree. He was 6’3”, 229 lbs, and ran a 4.3 40. Great documentary if anybody hasn’t seen it.

Familiar with that folklore BEFORE the documentary. He, Bo and Herschel with today’s training? I brought up Bo because those 40 times weren’t publicized back in the 80’s…just obviously freakish! In fact, late 90’s is a hard time to get confirmed 40 times. I was in the AF stationed in Germany when TO was doing his man child thing at Chattanooga. Poring over Combine data when I arrived in Dallas, Rick Gosselin posted 40 times for different prospects and Owens was 4.7. Convinced that was dead on and many athletes just know how to train for that run…since he’s faster than that at 49.

I was listening to 104.5 here in Nashville and Blaine Bishop thinks they need to fire Vrabel since he is the one that wants to play to run first, clock management type of football. He made some good points.

People want to give Vrabel a pass, but thus guy isn't wrong. Vrabel hears every call that goes through the headset, he has the power to change it, to tell Downing what to call. As much as Downing is at fault, Vrabel is as well.

wright rushed for 875 yards and 10 TDs on 146 carries. 6.0 YPC.

Thats productive.

Sure at face value, but 160 came against Vandy and it was the only game he went over 100 rushing yards and was only the 2nd time in 22 games he's had 100 or more rushing yards and he's got a career 30 receiving yards.

I like Wright a ton and expect big things from him this upcoming season. But Seldon is bigger and faster, so he very well could be a better RB.

It's looking like TCU has no real shot at winning. Hope they beat the odds!

I've been saying that TCU is the biggest Jekyl and Hyde team I have watched this year....I honestly have no idea what to expect from them.

I think UGA should crush them, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if they pulled off the upset.

Yeah, I saw one game where their offense exploded and looked unstoppable earlier in the year. . . then the crappy Texas game. . . then the explosive Michigan game.

I'm with you, I don't know which team shows up. Hopefully it's the explosive version.

Before they ran out of good WR/TE and their OL fell apart, I remember the Titans running a good, sometimes potent, offense.

They haven't run on 1st down, and abandoned play action the whole time that Vrabel has been there. In fact, their offense went from bottom half of the league year 1, to top half year 2, to top 3 year 3. Year 4 and year 5 under this crappy OC have undone the progress that they made their first 3 years. J Rob missing on draft picks caught up to the Titans as well.

The blueprint for a successful Titans team with the roster that they had was there.

The lack of an OL has really showed the last few years. Lewan I never really liked, he makes great plays then does something stupid, kind of like Fred "The Drive Killer" Miller. Their whole game is control and with penalties and no OL it's hard to control anything. Vrabel is a good coach but sometimes good coaches get fired for their unwillingness to make changes that need to be made. Time will see if this is the case yet once again.

Assuming you meant to quote me.

I love Wright have since we got him (check my post history). I'm just saying Seldon is bigger, faster, and higher rated. And to this point Wright has 2 100 yard games in his career and hasn't had a 1k yard season. As a team we were rushing for almost 200 yards a game and that's kind of the point. Imagine what an elite RB would do in this system?

Hell we got a brief glimpse of what a really good RB can do in Evans when he was healthy. 3 games with 100+ and he was average over 7 ypc in each game.
