From Ron

Per 247 NC State they added 5th year and we offered

Sharing what I've learned through sources

-NC State is offering Doeren 5 years, 3 million per year. So the fifth year has been added. State also gave $750,000 to add to pool for assistant coaches and will guarantee contracts up to three years. That's a big deal for assistants.
.
-hearing Tennessee is offering 4.5 million per year for five years. I'm told Tennessee AD was in Raleigh today.

-I'm told Doeren will sleep on it and decide tomorrow. I'm guessing something should come by lunch.

-my personal feeling (despite disparity in numbers I've been told) is Doeren will stay. Maybe I'm just looking at it from glass half full perspective. Bottom line- Tennessee fans don't support the hire. State fans (for the most part) want him to stay.

As always, things are fluid and will report if anything changes. I think Cory picked up on some stuff at game and will share what he's heard once he gets home from game.

"IMO, Chad Morris, DJ Durkin, Brent Venables and Mike Norvell all would be better hires for the #Vols than Doeren. So would Tee Martin, Kevin Steele and Mike Leach. That's six guys. Six."

good or bad feeling there? bc i have no idea.

To me, that means that he’s probably gonna reach out to some others and consult some people about coming to UT.

After being on the “hmm let me think about that” side a few times, I think it sounds bad for State

We would be flipping our ish if it were the other way around and the guy that we wanted to stay was saying “I’m going to sleep on it”

I don't wish ill on Doeren, but if he comes he will already have strikes against him and I don't know enough about him to think he could overcome it if he is just mediocre in the ACC.
