Jesse Simonton:

We got word today that a Pilot/Flying J airplane with a blocked tail number left Tac-Air in Knoxville early this morning. We are working to track where that flight went and if it has any connection to Tennessee's coaching search. Athletics director John Currie is expected to be at Tennessee's season-finale against Vanderbilt at 4 p.m.

It has been thought that Tennessee would visit with Mississippi State's Dan Mullen sometime this weekend. The Vols did not meet with Mullen on Friday following State's regular season loss to Ole Miss on Thursday evening.

Because we both know its not smokescreens. Most of it is agents trying to bump their clients salaries, and the rest of it are fans desperately trying to cling to their belief in Santa Claus.

This. Currie is not master manipulating the entire fanbase with smokescreens and misinformation. Agents and boosters who are trying to influence Currie with fan and media attention are the source of all the misinformation.

Larry said the athletic dept staff has been told to prepare for a possible announcement Sunday but then says UT and Petersen are just talking right now with mutual interest. Those 2 things don't line up at all to me. You don't have dozens of people plan an entire day for a possibility of announcement if you don't have a good possibility of said announcement happening. Right? I've never worked in that type of environment.

I once went back for an interview for a gm job, where they offered, and I turned it down. As we were walking out they had employees gathered for an announcement and introduction.

They even told me on the way out they had planned on going it all that day.

Not quite the same level obviously... But it has happened to me.

I later took the job when they came back with another, much better, offer...😁

Can we all come to a consensus that Petersen > Gruden?

Larry's as negative as they come but he has been right an awful lot. This would be 10/10. Best hire in the SEC since Saban

Yeah, those facts really get in the way, don't they? Here's another one: you could view the Haslams' house today. Just call the realtor and show proof of funds. That's easy to check, right? Why don't you?

LA, I really like your post. This is out of character for you.

Petersen is a known 3 run home run. Gruden is a potential grand slam with all the fixins. Both could win you the ball game

Gruden could also throw up a can of corn. who knows

We will see what happens soon. I think you are being fed false info and are way off base with your comments, at least I hope you are.

If It's Petersen, then a press conference could come tomorrow following a loss or later if he wins tonight. Could be a reason for a contingent announcement. If It's Gruden, there'd be no reason not to have a set time and date for the announcement, especially if it has been done for days.

I think they are both bottom of the 9th grand slams. I think we can dominate recruiting faster with Gruden, but would have a little concern if he might be a little rusty with in-game management. With Petersen, all bases are covered with coaching, but would be concerned about his staff and the ability to recruit elite talent fast.

Yep, it is. I'm sick of people like Ding Ding being obnoxious jerks. Everybody's entitled to their opinion on who the next coach will be, but why keep shoving an opinion down people's throats? Facts are easy to check.

Why does the outcome of the game matter?
