USCe has hired Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier I. The recent past. Many who hated Mullen yesterday are praying for him today.

Not the case. It is the same situation that played out at LSU, USC, and others. Unless a coach is just looking to leave somewhere you aren't getting him. Hire the best coordinator or coach at a smaller school and hope for the best.
