I was about to ask the same thing. Sure looks like they are REALLY pushing to get him to Knoxville. Tee is a VFL so I'd roll with it. Its a risky hire, but at this point I believe they all are.

I don't think that's the case. I believe everyone likes him there. I think they are probably just trying to help out one of their guys land a major job.

Because no other team is even considering him

Do you know that as fact? He could have had several offers, but declined. Miles is receiving a pretty large buyout from LSU, so he can be picky if he wants. The UT job probably intrigues him.

I just don't see him as the biggest gamble. The biggest gamble, to me, is Pruitt. You have all the problems you stated with Tee + half the fanbase would be "out" on him from the get go.

Fact.

The whole fan base would support Tee 100%. They would give him time also. If Pruit struggles we’ll want him out in year 2. Not so with Tee

I could certainly be wrong, but I don't think Tee is ready. I would love to see him come home someday, but I think he needs more experience. Let him cut his teeth for a few years as the top guy at a mid-major somewhere. Bringing him here as HC under the current set of circumstances would be setting him up for failure IMO.

I say go all in on Les Miles. He is an experienced guy who can stabilize things and offers instant credibility.

Tee is ready. He is going to get more ready each day he is the HC here. He will recruit and he will listen to his staff. Please bring him here now.

The fact that Les and Tee are both interested and we haven’t hired one as of this morning is the biggest crock of this whole thing.

Says everything you need to know.

I bet we don't unless everyone just tells Currie no. I bet he goes through 15 different people before he goes there.

I agree, whoever is making this hire is dead set with previous head coaching experiance Ainge just said. I liked his wording also "whoever is making this hire"

I think there were some issues with miles in Baton Rouge off the field. Never heard exactly how bad or specifics but that could Eliminate him. That info came from an LSU guy that works in the police department there.

At this point, it has to be Tee. He could salvage recruiting and would be someone the fans will rally behind. Bring in a veteran DC, possibly add some of the VFL coaches to the staff and I think the fans are going to be excited.

If you put both in the worse case Tee survives for a longer period than Pruitt or anyone else you can put on the list for the reason you listed. If coach "X" can't get it done (Jones like) you fire him in 4 or 5 years. Thats not near as easy to do with Tee if he's in the same situation.

If both worked out it doesn't matter who gets on the train at the first stop. Everybody is eventually on it.

I’m trying to be positive but at this point does it really matter? I mean, the names being thrown around are not going to win the East, much less an SEC championship.

I don't think we would sign him to a 8-10 year contract... maybe 5... and Cade would be on our O line for 4 of the 5 so...

They re not firing him after 3 or 4 years (like they would be willing to do with others), at which point you have to extend him for recruiting. He doesn't need a 8-10 year contract on the front end to last that long.

If Currie signed the mou and bev didnt and we have to pay Schiano then maybe they can fire him without a buyout. I dont know obviously but put his ass on administrative leave and let Fulmer find a coach.

I said earlier, unfortunately at this point with the state of the program being so low, we need a guy that can come in and recruit his tail off... We have to have an upgrade in talent on the field to compete and start the momentum or it won't matter who comes in to coach..

This is literally the first I’ve ever heard this. Leave it to Bruin to try and rain on everyone’s parade.

Look out Tee. He’s coming for you next.
