This hire has to be done fast. Can't play cat and mouse with these coaches or wait and see what they need in order to get into the details of the offer. Gundy probably said "get to Stillwater tomorrow and we'll talk," and here we are.

Does he want to win?

If that was his top priority he would have left OK St. a long time ago. Unfortunately for him he is 2nd fiddle in OK. OU is always going to be the school there! If he couldn't win a Natty with the likes of Weeden and Bryant there its not going to happen, but I think deep down he is okay with that. He is well paid, looked upon as a great coach in his community, established family in the area. Just my thoughts though

I certainly can't say that I know much about Mullet, but on the surface it appears like a very similar hire. Certainly, at this point, nothing to sneeze at.

Currie will be fine if we hire Mike Gundy. That's the point here. Haslams don't want egg on their faces and they don't want to lose their guy. They are willing to overpay to protect their image and their stooge AD.

we were gonna hire a slimeball man who was 68-67 and instead may get a guy who is 113-53 over more than a decade. Yeh cant wait to see the national media bare down and tell us how thats a downgrade from psycho schiano.

That's an 8-4 record on average. 8.4m for 8-4 doesn't really get me pumped. Just because Schiano was a turd sandwhich doesnt make this great.
