I agree. As bad as the Haslams are and have been, they know their image took a huge, huge hit on Sunday. As did their AD stooge. They used to work in the shadows screwing stuff up, but the Schiano disaster lifted the floorboards and shined a flashlight on them.

This is a way to make it right with the fans and the boosters. Gotta finance those stadium renovations somehow.

ATL and Baldy both voiced their displeasure (and not giving any more money?) in Knoxville yesterday, I'm sure there were many more--it may have put a fire under their butt.

I don't think nobody is trying to make you not be a Peyton fan. I think it just surprises people that he would be behind such a terrible coach regardless if he is a terrible human being or not. I would think that Peyton has a wealth of football knowledge, maybe I'm wrong. As far as having loyalty to him, Tee, or Fulmer, I want them to hire a good coach and at least a decent human being. I don't care if he's a "Tennessee guy" at all.

Couldn’t care less what someone is “trying to make me not be”. I’m on record for proposing Schiano as a candidate BEFORE we even needed one. Just one of those “who would you” type of things. Put him right below Norvell at the time. When I read the connection, my first post was “that’s rough, I’m out”. I’ve spent the past couple of days defending our majority’s rationale for not wanting to hire questions. But when you’re lockstep with a mob brandishing torches, sections are going to peel off on their own witch hunts! We have fans actually saying SCHIANO raped the boys and now numnuts calling out a legend who’s only purpose in returning to Knoxville every year is to involve himself in charities and try to serve as an ambassador for the school he loves. I’m sure he has a hell ton of flaws, like all of us, but very few of us can claim his plusses. So let’s torch the icon who set aside his personal bias for what he THOUGHT would benefit the university. Some of you are freaking brain-dead! I’ve lashed out at the media talking heads for their judgmental stance on Vol fans opposing Schiano. Without their knowledge they’re right by osmosis.
