Not really. He walked into the best talent candy had ever had, and a ton of that talent was redshirt talent. He recruited only a couple SEC players while he was there. Not to mention historic lows for ut uf and uga. He's not a bad coach, but far far worse than his record at vandy indicates. He wouldn't have done much better than mason last year with the poor roster he left.

I hear you, but at the same time they beat Uga, Florida and us.

Yeah the latest mock I looked at had him 15-22 range

I don't pretend to know the mock drafts well or which teams around the league have the largest needs at which positions but, in the league now, I'd be hesitant taking any RB in the first round. Especially one coming off of a torn ACL less than a year ago.

Drafts are funny anyway. There could be a run on lineman and RBS fall to late first early second

Lol. Yep. I shudder at the thought of Dooley coaching the 2013 team. Good grief. 3-9 might be a generous estimate.

Da'Rick's dismissal might have been the catalyst that ultimately led us to Butch Jones.

Thanks, David Ricky!

Liked this because sometimes we have to be thankful for the most painful times inflicted on us.

Any good that may have come from the 2012 would be the worst of all imaginable dumpster fires. Thank you Ricky, Thank you Tyler, and Thank you Derek for giving up!

OB and SKV , Prayers continue to be sent on your behalf for your entire families. May God truly bless you all in the coming days.

Tennessee Football: Vols are gathering all the pieces to be an SEC contender | FOX Sports

Feldman says that when Butch took over, the Vols had the worst collection of skill players he has EVER seen in any power 5 team. Crazy the amount of roster flip we have had

I remember thinking as I watched Oregon completely embarrass us in 2013 that we had to have one of the slowest, most unathletic rosters in program history. I guess Feldman agreed.

If we played Oregon this fall it would be a totally different ball game.

ppl ran right past our special teams units in 2013 and then last yr we had one of the best special teams groups in the country in all facets. Athleticism everywhere.

Great point, and that was just the 1st year of a full Butch Jones recruiting class and off-season work out program. That's one of the main reasons I have such high expectations for this year.

12th pick Shane Ray (stock has fallen due to some injury)

19th pick Todd Gurley

2nd pick of 2nd round Bryce Petty

I like it

I think it had more to do with the marijuana found in his car while getting a speeding ticket, if he is the one I am thinking of?

Didn't Adrian Peterson comeback from acl surgery to win nfl mvp? modern medicine has come a long way the last few years. Gurley is a special special talent when he's healthy..

It was a misdemeanor weed charge.. If this would've happened a month ago, nobody would even be talking about it leading up to the draft.

This is true but it is just the timing of it that makes one question his judgment. Two days before you are going to sign a multi-million contract, you speed with it in your car!

I would have stayed in the house locked up just to make sure nothing bad happens. Not the marijuana at all just the decision making?

Yes he did, and yes it has but that still isn't the norm. Gurley is a very special talent but it's still an odds play and over and over again it continues to be proven that taking a RB in the 1st, especially in the top 10, isn't worth it the majority of the time. First round price slots are too high, RB career longevity is usually too short, and near equivalent value at the position can usually be found later in the draft, often times much later.

WRU goes way beyond current pros or college. Also, we not only started it but Climpson looks sad in comparison to us.

Oh and sinus infections blow. Before it was my knee that gave me issues every now and then but now my equilibrium sucks for most of the day. Although there's some relief. That on top of a meniscus tear that occasionally decides I've gone too far. /rant

Ask your doc for a double steroid dose pack (12 days instead of 6) will help decrease swelling in your sinuses and knee. :salute:

What's really fun to think about is that if we played Oregon in 2016 or 2017, we would probably beat them comfortably Ohio State/LSU 2011 style.

Talent is everything in the upper echelons of CFB.

Ok fellow Vol fans...this is my last post before Ashlee's surgery. The doctors are saying something about a CRP number being slightly elevated and are running additional labs for 4 am, stat. We will find out in the morning if she's a go or if we have to wait. I feel like she'll be a ho but, hey, what do I know.

I just want to say that...no matter what, my faith will not be shaken. God is in control.

It's game time peeps. Ashlee's bringing her A game.
