It's somewhat better this year. But Dobbs getting injured from a blindside hit is what worries me.

I bet we hit their QB more than they hit ours. We can slide protection versus Gucci Mane Cox. They can choose to double Barnett if the want Maggitt will go crazy. And lord knows if we start blitzing Weatherd with them. That young QB will either get killed or force passes to overmatched WRs. Florida will have to run for 200+ to win this year.

IMO, Kamara will make it a different offense. I think Kamara will split carries with Hurd, and they'll try to keep Dobbs from scrambling so much to minimize hits. Dobbs hasn't been a consistent vertical passer, so we'll probably focus on shorter and intermediate throws to get him in a groove. If Dobbs and North can develop a rhythm like everybody hopes, that will open up our passing game, making our RB depth less of an issue.

An injury-free Dobbs is the key to our season, so I'm guessing we'll be conservative. With DeBord as our OC, I'd be surprised if we take many risks-- and in a lot of games, we won't need to.

I would play that one game. Only cover 2 at CB then sit my old self down for life afterwards. I hit the 30 mark this year it's over. :)

Think 23 there TBB!

That is the number of years older than you that I am.... :)

I did mean Cam Sutton originally, but both work :hi:

The offense looked better in the Spring than at anytime last year. The flow was much better with BASIC calls. I actually saw slants being called. Also inside WR screens were called. We've upgraded tremendously at OC.

This to the "T". Good post TBB.

That has been all it has even been about with the play calling. It changes what the D has to prepare for on every play. Hopefully the gap scheme run plays will also improve, not just with O line execution. They needed some tweaks. With Kamara back there with a stronger, healthy Hurd - it's going to be much improved.

Taxslayer Bowl on sec network. Love watching this game. It was 28-0 before Iowa could even blink. Dobbs really makes this offense click. Can't wait to see this offense with Kamara, healthy wr's, a year older oline as well as year older Hurd & Wolf. Man that's just nasty.

We're gonna want some payback vs OU & Neyland will be absolutely rocking. Plus they have quite a few question marks, including a new qb & two new OT's lol. I'm not worried about uf one bit. Not at all. I think Ark is being way overhyped. They're good but game is in Neyland. Stop their run game & we handle them. If we win these 3 games with uga coming to Neyland you know damn well Butch will have 119 ready for war with the sec east likely on the line. Especially after the two close losses to uga last two years. 119 will be like swarming sharks in a pool of bleeding bulldogs. Undefeated going to bama.

So who's blocking Spida and CeCe? What about Tabor/Poole on backside blitz? You talking like your
OL is good at any of this? We have the dbs to blitz all day.

We are returning pretty much all of our Oline from last year, at least our guys have starts under their belt unlike yours. And please don't pander us with a freshman DE who hasn't proven anything. How do you plan on blocking our guys who both had double digit sacks last year?

HG. I think Florida will take a huge step back on defense. Loosing WM will sting this year. Offensively speaking you should be better besides the offensive line. That's gonna cost you a lot of games.

I don't like you.

Wife and I spent our honeymoon in St. Thomas and St. Johns.

If you're heading that way, check out Cinnamon Bay on St. Johns asap. Heaven on earth and not as much a tourist spot as Megan's Bay is on St. Thomas.

Travel safe...and I don't like you.

Noted. Thank you OB, I'm in the midst of planning ours now for next June and having a hard time narrowing it down. I'll have to check Cinnamon Bay out.

Just like bringing up Fr DTs who haven't faced a legit OL.

stop arguing with HG. You gotta be pretty insecure to be hanging out on a vol board all day every day as a gator fan. On here putting our team down man its just truly lame. Spending way too much time worrying about the Vols. Really entering into troll territory.

Collins and Shannon as CoDC will keep us a top 15 unit. I beiieve they'll be more aggressive than Muschamp with Durkin. The UT and LSU games were the few times they called a blitz all yr.

Oklahoma is also replacing nearly all of their coaching staff. They have their warm-up game to make Mayfield look like a king, but I'd be surprised if they hit on all cylinders with us being their second game of the season.

I'm a little worried about Florida's defense, but they have no OL to speak of, aside from 6 freshmen coming in. So worst case scenario, the dumpster fire games of 2013 and 2014 will have us on the winning side. Best case, we establish the run, rush for 200+, and get out injury-free.

I don't understand how any Vols fan can consider Arkansas overhyped. I'm not going to bring up moral victories like losing to Bama by one, or having A&M against the ropes, THEY CURBSTOMPED TWO RANKED TEAMS IN LSU AND OLE MISS. They have two 1,000-yard rushers, and Brandon Allen isn't the bum everyone pegs him to be (20 TD, 5 INT last year). They do lose some playmakers on D, but they'll do their best to control the LOS and this will be one of the tougher games we play. I'm pegging it as a loss, just to keep my expectations tempered, it's literally a 50-50 game to me.

If anyone's overhyped, it's Georgia. They have a sturdy-solid OL, three outstanding RB's, and a pretty dang good LB unit. But they have questions at QB, WR that no one ever talks about.. I do think they'll be good enough to win 9, but they're not the unstoppable force that everyone pegs them as because they saw Chubb's highlight video. This one is also 50-50, and I don't think we take two straight home losses. I can see us dropping a hard-fought game against Arkansas and making up for it by settling the unfinished business of the last two years.

Call me crazy, I'm predicting a home loss to Arkansas, but I also feel really good about Bama this year. The have a pretty tough schedule leading up to our game-- @UGA, Ark, and @A&M the three weeks before our game-- while we're coming off a bye. That and Derrick Henry is their only returning offensive player who had any role last year. They're losing not only Amari Cooper, but like, two or three WR's behind him. They'll have a new QB and only two returning OL starters. This is the most vulnerable Alabama has been or will be in quite a while. This will be our season-defining upset-- not Oklahoma or Georgia.
