That's true, but Nike is another thing to sell because it does matter whether you want to admit it or not.

Yep it's not a make or break deal for football but it's another pro on the list instead of a con. When people go to buy stuff they buy Nike over Adidas in majority of situations. It's something else the staff can add to list of things to pitch. being 1 of 10 Nike Elite schools is a big deal to pitch.

Now on to basketball, kids absolutely choose schools based on brand affiliations. It's key to their future shoe deals if they go Pro. Nike has major lockdown on AAU circuits to make sure kids are going to Nike schools if they want to work together in the future.

Making fun of a Navy Seal? Hmmmm

Oh come on. Don't pull that PC stuff. I am very appreciative of our servicemen. Their bravery makes me look like a little girl. My grandfather was in the navy in ww2.

I was continuing the special teams joke convo of the morning.

So if Mark Sanchez ever became a Green Beret, we couldn't make fun of the butt fumble? :hmm:

Yeah but what about the important parts of the game?

I know you're kidding but...the last time we beat Florida was because of this guy...

Not to mention... a punter, IMO, is every bit the worth of a skill position. Think about it, a good punter can pin the ball down inside the 5, a mediocre one sends it into the end zone. He can be worth 15 yards several times a game. Not many skill players have that impact.

Alabama's punter won them at least one game last season

I guess you weren't around when members of Jalen Hurd's family said that the coaches were telling him and Malone etc that they couldn't tell them what UT was going to do yet but when the time was right they would "just do it."

Do you also think that Mckenzie and Tuttle and others in this class weren't sold on the switch to NIKE?

Does the interview with Charles Davis where he told John and Jimmy that his son (who is a qb) said that NIKE is the most important thing to him right now and that he won't go to a non NIKE school and that he is not alone when talking to some of his other friends?

You are allowed to not like the uniforms for whatever reason you want but don't act like the switch doesn't help us in recruiting and the gear that is received.

Zach Fulton said in the video yesterday he was salty he didn't get NIKE while here. I work with the brother of a former bball player who is ticked he didn't get NIKE while here at UT. It matters

Don't say a thing. I was talking about this when I first hit this board. The posters tried to tell me it didn't matter.

Please pin this post to the top of each VN forum. Must read material.

Imagine big Kahlil Mckenzie sporting this dark smoke gray battle gear. That's intimidating. He's pretty terrifying in turbo orange too, but the smoke gray will take it to another level.

You weren't the only one. People are covering their ears and saying lalala on this issue because it absolutely matters and sometimes a great deal, especially in basketball.

Oh they were trolling me about it. Hilarious how blind they were to an issue like this. This was an issue back in the early 2000s. When Nike came out with the Vapor football cleats they changed the game.

Guys, Volatil and his family need some prayers.

That's all I'll say at this point because it's not my place but, just know they're going through something right now and could use some uplifting through prayer.

On it.

Making fun of an athlete in general is pretty pathetic, especially a VFL. It's a lot easier to sit behind a keyboard in your mom's basement and spew hate than get on the field and actually put yourself on the line.

No "hate"...mirth and joy... TBH, I've never had an issue with Lincoln's time at Tennessee and can't remember "hating" on a former player. I just thought you wrapping him up in the American flag and declaring him untouchable was a bunch of hogwash...pull the nails outtaya palms and get off your freaking cross!

Good use of the tired "Momma's basement" BTW...I joined the Air Force after some college pretty rapidly after high school. If I were to use your pity garnering technique, I'd say something about how I was successful, owned my home and was halfway through raising my daughter when my Mom died of cancer 7 years ago...she'd have been tickled about the basement jab. :)
